A comment on the question "Mixing not smooth at all" in Tonium :

in theory,yes you nudge it back and change the pitch once or twice like you would do on 1210's or CDJ's but not on the PMD,
Even if you find the same pitch (by site or by hear) with the PMD, your tracks will still drift few seconds later, so you have to keep "pitch bending" mid mix.
The time you waist doing this could be better spent playing with FX's and so on.
That is why it is a big issue with the PMD of most of us would like to see a BPM lock like in Traktor.

not sure what did it but Tonium replaced it for me.
So, for me, their customer service won me over and i won't be so arsh on them anymore.

Just Received my replacement PMD at work, installed the PME, pluged in the device and I get the same message " firmware on the device is out of date and will not work with the PME"
i can see the PMD in "my computer" but not in the PME
When i try to update, it says " no coonection"
but what is strange is that I can eject the PMD from the PME
May be it is a work "Proxy server" thing
i will try at home tonight, where my old set up with my old PMD is still there and I'll report back later.

As I'm not getting any response from Tonium (as usual) i gonna have to phone the dreaded customers service line.
I'm expecting them to wash their hand with my querry because i'm out of warrantee.
I still can't believe and feel sick about my PMD being broken.

i know that my Device is over the warantee period but I still paid a lot of money for it a 1.5 year ago and let's not forget that a year of that was very instable.

Ben_ek recon it could moisture that got into the hardware
My therory is that after playing I always put it away in a PSP case and the heat generated by the device in a closed space could have done that.
I shall put it in the airing cupboard tonight and hope for the best.
After what happened to Simon with his broken screen, i'm expecting Tonium not wanting to repair my PMD and tell me to buy another.
£475 a year ago and only bug free the last few months, it hurts.
I still can't beleive that they don't repair procedure in place.
Anyway I sahll keep my rants for later if nothing happens.
Still, it would be nice to hear from Tonium on this one, and yes I contacted the Support e-mail address before they ask.

hi tonium, first of all i just want to let you know that i feel physicaly sick, i've had and looked after my pmd since the begining no 333, and for no particular reason, the pmd stop working tonight, it was fine this morning, the batery is charged at 60 and a crackely/Static sound comes out of the phone and line out sockets, i've tried to switch it on and off several times, tried all other setting buttons as well but no luck, could you advise something i could do before i the need to reformat the hard drive which i really don't want to do as importing a lage library can be a nightmare on the pmd, needless to say that i'm not happy to get such problem just a year and half after a £475 purchase, even if it can be fixed, this has pissed me right off as it shouldn't happen in the first place, please get in touch soon, thanks
