A comment on the problem "Firefox Toolbar widget sucks. I'm desperate, please help." in Vodpod:
@cathyc -- did you see my previous response to your issue? i think the problem you're having is that you're trying to use our tool for a purpose it's not designed to handle. the vodpod button sucks at embedding slideshows because it's not designed to be used with slideshows. – Mark Hall, on February 01, 2009 23:19

@Philip Barton -- they already exist, in lots of (contextually appropriate) places.
Some examples:
Firefox Extension install page
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire...
Button Help Page (linked to from the Firefox page)
http://vodpod.com/vpbutton/help
A number of posts on the FAQs section of our blog:

Hope this helps.

cathyc -- our Firefox extension is for sharing videos from YouTube and other sites that offer an embed code for their videos. That's why it's called the Share Videos button.
It is not designed or built for sharing slideshows or other similar, embeddable objects on Wordpress.com blogs. Yes, it does work for that purpose occasionally, but it's not designed for that. And, because we're a small team and focused totally on helping people to collect videos (or to post them to their blogs) we just don't have the resources or time to handle support this kind of use.
Sorry your frustrated and you think the button sucks, but you're trying to use the Share Videos button for something it is not designed to do.

Hi- the widgets are for sharing your Vodpod on other sites: your blog, or Myspace, or Facebook, etc.
If you want to have your own site where friends or others can watch your videos, you can use our new service Vodspot:

You may need to reset your password. Please go here to do that:
http://vodpod.com/site/request_password
We'll send you a link to get a new password. Log in with that, and you should be fine.
If you don't see a password-reset e-mail from us, please check your "spam" or "bulk" folders (depending on which e-mail service you use). Sometimes they mistakenly route our e-mails there.

On your account page (vodpod.com/account), you can see a summary of views on your collection from the previous day, plus the top five videos.
Click to see all stats and we'll give you a nice fancy graph, with views by day over the past 45 days, as well as most viewed videos over the past two days.
We're going to add in year-to-date stats view in the coming weeks, plus ability to see total video views.
