Ning is just going through the motions trying to get as many people on ning.com as possible so that they can sell it to whomever.. they dont give a damn about any of us which is why we are packing our bags as well... they can have all of my members... i wish them the best.. but im starting over using joomla as the front end and a social network platform that is just as good as ning... im not going to say which one it is but if Im willing to dump my 120,000 users to start fresh... then it must be pretty good.

WHY IN THE HELL does Ning.com offer this but our social networks that we friggin pay for does not.
When was the last decent update (FOR OUR SOCIAL NETWORKS AND NOT STUPID NING.COM) came out?
For the past few months they have been modifying things that really don't need to be modified and seems to be a major waste of time in my opinion. I hate to say it but Ning is really starting to suck ass. They dangle carrots in front of us promising us all kinds of things then they push the promises back.
I have been nothing but positive on this forum... I have given Ning the benefit of the doubt... but there is only so much that I can have patience with when I am trying to run a business.
I cannot wait til my new site is ready so i can hit the delete button on this 3rd grade toy service called Ning. That's exactly what Ning has turned into.
We started our social network approx december 2007 and my partners were VERY weary of having a hosted solution.. After researching Ning (as a company)... watched videos... read the message forums.. read articles... etc etc etc from the Ning gods (Gina, Mark, and Ning employees) we decided to put our faith into Ning... BOY WAS THAT A F-D UP DECISION. Everything up to the new NING.com was a bullshit lie from Ning. EVERYTHING.
I know exactly why Wyclef and hundreds of others are leaving Ning... It is impossible to grow a business using their product because now Ning no longer wants to be known as a "white label" solution for businesses.... They want it to be a kiddie place for people to make groups for their Ning.com site.

i have over 120,000 members and havent even come close to capacity - at least I dont think I have because I havent been billed for it.
I personally dont see how ning can charge you for something that you have no idea what you use because they dont have a tool for this information for their customers to see.
I dont think you need to worry about 5,000 members going over capacity.

i never said i was a professional web coder. However I am smart enough to figure things out on my own instead of bitching about it on a Getsatisfaction message forum :-)
Looks like Patty and Rob got me - I personally dont care what either one of you think about me, my site, or my site's colors. I know what my site brings in on a monthly basis... i know several of the radio awards that my site has won... i know that we are oneof the most listened to internet radio portals in the world - and that's all i care about.
I BET NEITHER ONE OF YOU HAVE THE BALLS TO POST A LINK TO YOUR COOKIE CUTTER NING SITE. < see, I know a little HTML.. I was able to figure out how to bold and underline a word in this sentence :-) – rhaney, on June 19, 2009 21:16

Im not thumbing my nose up at you. Usually, when there is a problem... NCs are too lazy to search for an answer. 95% of MINOR problems that I have had since December 2007 have been answered by other sites (such as Developer Network, the old Network Creators, This new Get Satisfaction... or simply by typing the issue into google and finding a site or issue similar to my issue.
I ordered something a few weeks ago from a site on the internet and they sent me the wrong item... it took 3 days to hear back from them... 24 hour response is still somewhat the standard for ticketing systems on the internet. MY EXPERIENCE with Ning Help has been very positive so I am going to let people on here know that instead of all negative reviews.
Patty, I was simply stating my experience with Ning Help and dont appreciate you putting words into my mouth about thumbing my nose at rookies like yourself.
Word of advice - before wanting to be the next TOM on the internet - learn a little about simple html and coding before trying to develop the next MySpace. – rhaney, on June 19, 2009 20:27

Im just really curious about some of the issues other NCs are having. Are they major issues like "OMFG i screwed something up on my site and my site is no longer working" OR minor issues like "OMFG I changed the css and cannot get my background the same blue that I had before" type questions?
If they are minor issues that you need help with.. I personally dont blame them for not responding... That's what this GetSatisfaction AND http://developer.ning.com are for.

I have had two issues in the past 5 or so months... One issue waswith the S4N script that I accidentally deleted part of the code and when that happened, my entire social network site was a white page with a php error... After sending in a ticket.. they had the problem fixed within 2 hours.
I personally dont think that is too shabby.. but since this has turned into a negative Ning forum.. Im sure someone who is a paying customer will come along and say that 2 hours is unacceptable.
If you are having an issue andneed to use the help center... Simply write them as much detail as possible... send in a snapshot with link, etc - Make sure you send them everythingt hey are going to ask for the first time.
ALSO - ARE YOU AWARE THAT THEY DO HAVE THE PREMIUM HELP SUPPORT PLAN THAT YOU CAN PURCHASE? I personally have not purchased this plan because I havent needed it BUT it seems like a reasonable price... especially for the fre sites.
