More ruined rear tires on 2006 CivicGuess I'm not the only one who has had to replace rear tires due to flat-spotting on an '06 Civic. Looks like the suspension is faulty and causes the tires to wear unevenly due to a control arm issue. I had the struts replaced after having new tires put on the rear twice. There was a nasty side-to-side sway while at highway speed when travelling over bumps, dips or humps. That disappeared with the strut replacement, but the tires don't last more than 4 or 5 thousand miles. This is bad news and Honda has produced a lemon. I had faith in this brand of vehicle as my family has owned a number of different models of Honda over the years. What a disappointment.

Another cracked engine block in 2006 CivicMy 2006 Honda Civic has a cracked engine block which seems to be not all that uncommon and very expensive to have fixed ($3,000 - $5,000). This is apparently a casting defect that has occurred in other '06 Civics both within warranty limits and in cars out of warranty or moderate mileage and high mileage. Haven't heard any stories of Honda stepping up to the plate and taking responsibility yet either. The dealership I asked to help me said the problem was caused by overheating, but it was totally the other way around - the car overheated because the cracked block allowed coolant to leak out!!! If they don't take care of me, I'll be needing to find another brand of car to buy and dissuade anyone I know or meet to do the same.
