Thanks Matt, yeah its the processing time that scares me and the strain on the old cpu!
I guess I can break the fortress into its smaller constituent parts and then embed them on a page to provide access to the various parts from one location. Was hoping to take it further though as a research project in its own right so it can become an archaeological tool in its own right. A cheaper version of photogrammetry if you like.

research question, need more than 300 photos
Hi, I am involved in an archaeohistoric research project on a very large fortress in the Ukraine, though I live in the UK. One of the research questions is how to record the site, we are using geophysics, gps and total stations but I had the idea of creating a synth. I have used synths in my own research on medieval timber framed buildings and have found them a great resource in disseminating information. The size of the fortress though would require 1000s of images, does MS have any interest in helping make this possible? Is there away I can make this happen? I see you are trying to bring out a version that links synths to other synths, is there an eta on this? The website for the fortress is www.akkermanfortress.org if your interested. We aim to be out there again in June this year.

    Seadragon for Mobile Devices
I use both photosynth and seadragon in my PhD research to disseminate images and models, I recently bought a nokia n96 then realised seadraon is only available on the iphone. Is there any plan to make a seadragon app for other smart phones like the n96? Or a work around?

    many thanks

how to show off photosynth at a conference?
I am giving a paper on the 15th of Dec about digital technologies in archaeology and want to use one of my synths as an example of such technologies. I fear relying on the net at a conference! It has let me down before, is there any way of using a synth off-line or a way of preloading a page to mitigate a net crash or lag/buffer? Also does the same apply to the seadragon side of the software?
    thanks
