Rick replied on November 20, 2009 15:53 to the question "The new RT invasion sucks!" in Twitter:
This person sums it up in a nutshell. What's truly amazing is how poorly the Twitter software engineers understand their own popularity. Instead of messing with these silly destructive 'hacks' they can do better to iron out the kinks in their already wobbly and underpowered system. They just got $100 million in additional VC - are they using it to waste working hours to find increasingly dumb ways to destroy Twitter? Have they no clue about 'invasion of privacy', 'intrusion', and the like? Seemingly not. Use the $100 million to get more server power, more bandwidth - and to hire some professional software engineers. Because you guys can't hack it.-

A comment on the idea "New RT "only see RT's from ppl you follow" is a step in the wrong direction." in Twitter:
That last part is important - the system works fine as is. It's only the celebrity fan idiots who want something else. To them it's a life - the more tweets the merrier. I fully do not care what happens to them. Most of us are real people and Twitter is a system - at the end of the day - for real people and not these phantoms. It should be your OPTION to do this - not forced on you. So you're a celebrity butt-licker. OK that's your prerogative. But few mentally healthy people engage in such activities seriously. So give an option for the rest of us who still have lives and want to use this service for something truly productive. You can lean that far, can't you? Thought so. ;) – Rick, on November 20, 2009 15:47

Then you're a professional tweeter who doesn't have a life. Fine - no one's forcing you. You have your freedom. All the parent poster wants is the same freedom. There's no freedom in the current implementation. Very little brains either. – Rick, on November 20, 2009 15:46

Ghastly Intrusive Twitter Retweet Beta is TEH SUCKTwitter's new 'retweet' feature is GHASTLY. I don't quite know where to begin. It's intrusive - you get tweets you absolutely do not want, they come out of nowhere, there is no way to remove them or turn them off - and then the blasted system keeps them on hand for you and I simply don't want that junk in my account. The old manual 'RT' was fine - this implementation is HORRIBLE. I don't think the Twitter programmers understand much about their system and what people like and dislike. This new 'beta' system is so bad I fear many Twitter fans will be seriously turned off and leave the site permanently.
Rick replied on November 03, 2009 21:03 to the problem "More Artist Mixups - You Need a Solution Now" in Spotify:
There are evidently QUITE A FEW people who are reporting similar issues. Let's put it this way: Spotify is for 99% absolutely brilliant even in design. But any system that relies for unique identity on an official artist name is really bonkers. Every database system in the world uses a method to get around this. Wikipedia does. You need one too - *now*. Det räcker nu!

More Artist Mixups - You Need a Solution NowYou've done it again - artists with similar names you don't differentiate. Previous encounter was Dave Matthews Band. Your response at the time was 'we don't have time now'. New encounter is King's Men/Kingsmen (of Louie Louie fame). Kamrater: you're going to have to do something about this and you'd best do it *now*.-

Rick replied on October 30, 2009 01:25 to the question "How do you get off someone's list?" in Twitter:
Oh you're right. I've been put on lists and I absolutely abhor the silly concept. Yet there seems to be no way to stop it. Twitter of late is all about frills that don't work right, new code that's very buggy, and very little system auditing. Almost as if there's a lack of professionals at the company. Perish the thought. ;)

Pretty Lame & Buggy Twitter Improvements 28 OctoberThe new Twitter 'improvements' that happened today (28 October) were horribly planned and written. There are bugs all over the place and it's clear they're very confused about what they want to do. Direct messages no longer show up, the columns of statistics change to 'undefined value' at times - these blokes are turning out to be classic screwups. Looks like they might need a few professional programmers.
A comment on the problem "Twitter account suspended without cause!" in Twitter:
That's about as dumb as you can get. Only a you-know-who would recommend Zuckerberg's monster to anyone. You go use Facebook, Rich. Give them all your personal details just like they ask you. Resign yourself to their never allowing you to completely remove your account. Or claim your own property as your own. Buy your friends small icons for a few USD each. There's a five letter word describes this (lack of) mentality and it begins with 'mo' and ends with 'on'. And that's you.
The constructive, non-troglodyte advice seems to be ManzanaConVodka's - contact the Twitter crew on del [at] twitter.com etc. – Rick, on October 28, 2009 08:12

Tack.
