Hi Aurobinda-
Thanks for the reply...I have latest Quicktime player installed...But even it doesn't work properly...When I try to play audio, I get a broken Quicktime logo...If I refresh browser (IE only...FireFox will just exit altogether), it plays ok...Baffling...Have re-installed QT several times but with no luck...Any ideas???

Why won't Media Encoder CS4 vers. 4.0.2.002 add .mov files???Why won't Media Encoder CS4 vers. 4.0.2.002 add .mov files???
This is frustrating...Every tutorial I view shows ame adding .mov files...When I click Add, the File Type drop down doesn't even have a .mov option, unless I select All Files (*.*)...What's up with this??? Does anyone have a solution, or is anyone having a similar problem...What a pain! btw: I'm running windows xp sp3 on a dell dimensions 8400
Thanks in advance...Rick

Flash CS4 won't import Illustrator CS4 file! This Flash CS4 stuff is getting rediculous...As soon as I get past one major hurdle, another appears...Here's the latest...
In Flash, I'm trying to import an AI CS4 file, and when I use File-Import-Import to Library (or Stage) and select the ai file, Flash tells me "One or more files were not imported because there were problems reading them". The same thing happens using "Import to Stage"...And drag & dropp from Windows Explorer gives the same error msg...
I then loaded the Illustrator file in AI CS4, re-saved it, then tried the import, and the same error msg displayed...
Spending more time tyring to get around the problems than actually using the program!
Thanks out there for any help...Rick
Rick replied on April 02, 2009 02:59 to the question "Flash CS4 Pro freeeeeeeeeeeeeeezing :(" in Adobe:
I had strange problems w/Flash CS4 & AME...With Flash, every time I used File-Import-Import to Library (or Stage) the program would freeze...Had to use Ctrl/Alt/Delete...With AME, it just wouldn't launch...After the splash screen, I got one of those annoying report error to Microsoft notices...
What I did for both problems was this:
On each program launch icon (shortcut or .exe for instance), right click and select Properties...
Then select the Compatability tab...
Check "Run this program in compatability mode for" and select Windows 2000...
Click Apply, then OK...
Don't know if this will help in Vista temporarily, but I'd give it a try...
My system is Dell Dimensions 8400 running XP w/SP3...
Hope this helps...Rick

Why does Flash CS4 crash when trying to import to Library/Stage???Why does Flash CS4 crash when accessing File | Import | Import to Library (or Stage) ???
I certainly don't know, but here's a work-a-round that's been working for me on my Dell Dimension 8400 running Windows XP w/service pk 3:
- Right click on your Flash shortcut or .exe icon and select Properties...
- Select the Compatibility tab...
- Check "Run this program in compatibility mode" and select Windows 2000...
- Click Apply and then OK...
Now try to import a PNG or JPG from within Flash...Should work...

I may have fallen on a work-a-round to get AME CS4 (Vers. 4.0.2.002) to launch and function on my Windows xp svc. pk.3 machine:
- Right click on AME shortcut (or program icon) and select Properties...
- Select the Compatability tab
- Check "Run this program in compatability mode for:"...
- Choose Windows 2000...
Click Apply, then OK...
After doing this, the first time I tried to launch AME, I crashed and got a blue screen...After re-starting, AME seems to be running OK...
Let me add, I have NO idea why this works or that it will continue to work, but so far I'm able to do what I need to do, whereas before I could do NOTHING...
Hope this helps someone!

Hi Saran-
In answer to your questions:
1) No CS3 applications have ever been installed on my system...
2) Yes, I can launch & work with Flash CS4...The only issue I've noticed is that if I try to import anything to the stage or library, the program freezes, and I have to do a ctrl/alt/delete and end the process...To get around this, I have been able to drag & drop JPGs and GIFs from Windows Explorer into the Flash Library...PNGs don't work at all no matter what I do...Everything else seems OK so far...
3) I just ran the Updater as you specified, and updated only AME, and it still won't launch...I see only the Splash screen...the new version is 4.0.2.002...
4) I don't know how to check if system has XP-64 bit OS...If you tell me how to check this, I can let you know...
Thanks for help with all the troubleshooting...Rick – Rick, on March 24, 2009 14:43

Also, I was never able to launch the trial version, or the version that came when I purchased Flash CS4 successfully on this system...Many thanks for helping me with this...Rick – Rick, on March 23, 2009 15:49

Hi Saran-
Yes, I launched Flash CS4 first, then tried AME with no luck...This was happening with the 30 day trial version a few weeks ago as well...
As I mentioned before, my computer info is as follows: Dell Dimension 8400, Intel Pentium 4 640 @3.20 GHz (Instructions MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, EM64T), 1024 megs ram, plenty of drive space, Windows NT w/SP 3...
Maybe I need more RAM??? I'm at a loss, so any suggestions would be appreciated...Thanks, Rick – Rick, on March 23, 2009 12:59
