A comment on the idea "Offline Spotify" in Spotify:
Spotify already caches content. It's just a matter of surpassing the login and geolocation parts. Because premium users can roam freely, only a local authentication is needed.
About the delays, yes. Even the quality seems a bit worse. I suspect they are measuring the connection speed. – Ricmacas, on July 23, 2009 12:33

A comment on the idea "Offline Spotify" in Spotify:
The ad caching simply isnt "doable" in this kind of situation.
Premium would be the only way to do it. You can already roam with a Premium account, its just a question of enabling cache playing, with some kind of authentication algorithm offline. – Ricmacas, on July 23, 2009 12:30

Ricmacas reported a problem in Feedly on June 12, 2009 12:13:
Feedly does not start when I click the "feedly start page" button.When I click the feedly button, i get the url:
"chrome://feedly/content/boot/splash.htm?Updating%20feedly.%20Please%20wait..."
It redirects to http://www.feedly.com/home, with a blank page.
I wait, but the page is blank forever.
So I click the feedly button again, and the same url appears:
"chrome://feedly/content/boot/splash.htm?Updating%20feedly.%20Please%20wait..."
but it now redirects to:
"chrome://feedly/content/boot/error.htm?msg=failed%20to%20load%20extension%20boot%20because%3ANS_ERROR_XPC_GS_RETURNED_FAILURE%20--%20Component%20returned%20failure%20code%3A%200x80570016%20%28NS_ERROR_XPC_GS_RETURNED_FAILURE%29%20[nsIJSCID.getService]%20--%20undefined%20--%2011"
and it shows:
"Sorry. You just ran into a bug!
[feedly version:]
[navigator user agent:]"
My navigator user agent is Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; pt-PT; rv:1.9.1b4) Gecko/20090423 Firefox/3.5b4 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) and my feedly version is 1.2b. This info is not on that page, though, it shows exactly what i quoted.

Hey! Got the PC back.
Summary of symptoms:
-No1: BA501_-Battery- battery life is too short.
-No1: CHDMG-2_- Chassis damage in-house
-No1: MB118_- No boot hangs at POST
Summary of defects:
-No1: BA - Battery
-No1: PLA - CHASSIS
-No1: PCB - PCCard
Summary of reparations:
-No1: BAF1 - Replaced Battery
-No1: CHF1W - Replaced Chassis Side Panel
-No1: ADF1 - Replaced Sound Card
Replaced Pieces
Printed Circuit Board (Various) - SPS-USB PWR CONNECTOR BD (90W);
Keyboard - SPS-KEYBOARD PORT PAV;
Plastics - SPS LCD BEZEL W/WEBCAM/MIC PAV;
Plastics - SPS LCD BACK COVER; PAV FF;
Battery - SPS-BATTERY 6C 4.0AH
This summary was taken from the Repair Report. Well, the power connector was replaced (broken, i guess), the keyboard was replaced (dunno why, but i have now a very clean and good keyboard :)), they putted some plastics in the back of the pc and in the webcam to protect the PC (had to remove the Webcam bezel to use it) and they replaced the battery. Not sure why they mentioned the sound card, maybe its a mistake or maybe it was almost broken...
I only like HP because of the Notebook's warranty repair service. It's fast and effective. Although, they don't repair "potencial problems", and that's a shame.

Sorry, i was thinking in power cord when you said power adapter. NVM. i suppose they will replace it while in warranty. I *suppose* – Ricmacas, on September 22, 2008 21:22

I said once "I will never buy HP again". Don't ever say never. I ended up buying HP again, ... Suggestion: Use your HP warranty. Try to open a new issue to your laptop, and do it all again. Maybe they do it right this time. Or try to send the laptop from other state, maybe they will change the motherboard in other HP Repair center. I dunno how it works in America, but i suppose HP has more than one center, and if you try to send it from an area that is covered by another center, then that center MAY replace the motherboard. If you have some brother or something overstates, ask him to deliver the laptop and tell HP to come by your brother's house (this is just an example).

I really appreciate your reply. Not, that's not it, let me give you guys an update:
- Since no one answered my question, i called HP and they sent me a new adapter. It wont fix the problem, so i called HP again and told them that maybe it wasnt the AC adapter, but the AC power connector inside the laptop or some component inside the laptop that manages the power. They then told UPS to pass by and grab the PC and send it overcountries. They told me that the repair would take max. 15 days or less. Its been 7 days since i sent it, still waiting for news. As you know, this isn't the first time i send a PC to HP, so I'm not worried. – Ricmacas, on September 22, 2008 20:56
Ricmacas reported a problem in HP on August 29, 2008 01:55:
Consecutive bad problems with HP Pavilion dv6000 in europe (notebook).First, my pc had an broken memory DIMM and it was always giving me BSODs. I gave an big explanation to the HP support and they understood i did all the testing required and it was in fact a broken memory dimm. I also mentioned my battery losing power, but that wasn't a big problem so i didn't really give importance. But i mentioned it. They said "everything will be tested when you send your pc, including the battery". Battery wasn't recalled, memory was and pc screen had a glitch so it also was recalled (glitch not even mentioned in any conversation with tech support). Now, it came from HP, and 6 months after the recall i still have the battery issues, worse than ever. Dont even mention the battery calibration. It wont work. Also, the power cord went bad so i must keep the power cord in a fixed position so it will give power to the pc. Result: battery dies in *seconds* and powercord is attached with tape because any movement can break the energy.
Help? Suggestions?
P.S.: I was going to send it back to HP, but they only have battery warranty for one year and the warranty expired one month before :( and i would have to buy new battery+ac adapter.If you don't suggest anything useful i will call HP and tell them that they should have fixed it the first time the laptop was sent. It was already happening and the battery was included when i sent the PC. As you might imagine, im having a terrible experience.
P.S.: The battery started losing each time more power. Calibration does not solve this. battery life: 15 mins when i sent to recall, 5 secs now. when i say 5 seconds i mean in 5 secs it loses completely the power. like hard shutdown. pc cant even activate hibernation. its quite quick.
