After reviewing the web.config file and speaking to the user, it seems that they were using Apache as their web server. We recommend and support Windows Server 2003 and 2008 (32-bit) using IIS.

Good morning! It sounds as if it is a Firewall issue, please make sure of the following:

Client side (Recorder machine): make sure that TCP Port 1755 is open outbound.

Server side: please make an exception for TCP Port 1755 inbound.

Yes, something to that effect. Especially in large classrooms there is sometimes a need to pickup questions from students. Short of having to give the student a physical mic, there are some products that will automatically track the voice and position the mic to pickup their voice.

However, we would like to hear your feedback on the Vortex mixer as it sounds like an interesting product.

What has your experience been like?
Does it pick up not only the Presenter but the audience as well?

We have comprised a list of AV equipment that we have tested and used and also with recommendations from our user community.

The site has a list of DV/HD cameras and microphones. On some video cameras there is a mic input, which is nice to have as it allows you to use an additional microphone, if needed but is not a requirement.

As long as Windows recognizes the hardware, Panopto CourseCast will capture from it.
