Rob Boek shared an idea in YouVersion on October 08, 2008 15:22:
Facebook integrationI really like the idea of the social aspects of YouVersion. I would love to be able to interact with friends and family. The major stumbling block I see it getting them to join yet another social network, with yet another login and password.
Most of my friends and family (through much prodding) are actually signed up and using facebook though.
Please make YouVersion a facebook application!
Rob Boek replied on October 08, 2008 15:17 to the question "BlackBerry App worse then the mobile version" in YouVersion:
The mobile version is very good, which sets the bar pretty high for the blackberry app.
I tried changing the browser emulation to IE and back to BlackBerry but didn't notice any difference.
I definitely see value in having a BlackBerry app, but it needs to be at least as good (hopefully better) then the mobile version.
Besides the font and the scroll behavior, one thing I like about the mobile version is the ability to hide the bar at the top of the browser. I couldn't find a way to do that in the app. I'm using a Pearl 8130 on Verizon if that makes a difference.
As you said, the version of the app is 0.1. I actually didn't notice until you mentioned it and I confirmed by looking in the settings.
You might consider mentioning the version, or that the app is in beta on BlackBerry page http://www.youversion.com/bb/.

Hey Rob. Sorry you are disappointed with the app. To frame a few things for you, if you noticed the app is version 0.1. Hopefully that tells you where we are in the process...at the very beginning. We needed to start somewhere, and we are excited about where this app can go for sure.
To dive into specifics. Not sure why you are seeing different font, and scrolling behavior, the app actually uses the BlackBerry Browser as the browser to display the m.youversion.com site. You might want to check your emulation settings and choose the browser that looks the best to you. I personally use the "Blackberry" browser emulation.
Rob Boek asked a question in YouVersion on October 07, 2008 23:39:
BlackBerry App worse then the mobile versionThe BlackBerry bible app looks just like the mobile version, except that the font is terrible and the scrolling behavior is worse then the BlackBerry browser.
The only plus side to the app is being able to save my place and search the web at the same time.
Why release a BlackBerry Version that is of lower quality then the mobile version already is?

A comment on the idea "Using multiple computers - machine tagging" in RescueTime:
This is exactly what I do as well. I will spend most of my day RDP-ing to my work laptop. It would be quite handy to be able to use RescueTime in this way. Right now it just tells me I've used MS Terminal Services a lot! – JD, on May 18, 2008 12:45

but ... I inadvertently posted my PRIVATE address ... and it's very very public. if you go to the page with my login name (which i'm not going to give here, since it's private), you can see an address I really really don't want public. I've deleted the posts, the checkins, and the locations ... but still at http://brightkite.com/people/MyUserName ... all of that displays. grrr.-
