RSS Feed posting not working correctly.RSS Feed posting is not using the setting for the max number of tweets. I am only seeing 1 post, and it does not seem to be polling every hour.

So, the original issue with the Lifehacker post is solved. Basically, the way we were discovering the comments for a post mistakenly identified Lifehacker as a Blogger blog. That was a simple defect. However, some sites do not have a way to autodiscover the comment stream, and Lifehacker is one of them. That is a separate issue because many popular websites are note based on a blog platform, and do not follow the same conventions.

Rob Diana asked a question in socialmedian on December 14, 2008 17:34:
Can the formatting of the article text be better? In each article, some of the formatting from the source is retained but others are not. In particular, a post from my blog (http://www.socialmedian.com/story/203...) has a numbered list with quoted blocks in between each number. On socialmedian the text looks terrible. Can the text formatting be retained or improved?-

Tom,
There are a few things we are looking at to solve this problem. First, better grouping on the user interface in order to see the different services better, then you can drill down from there. Another is actual filtering in the application as well as the RSS feeds, or just an advanced search option where you can select the services.
If these don't sound like they solve your problem, please let me know and we can try to figure out a solution.

Stop following a discussion. Some of the discussions seem to go on forever. It would be great if there was a way to stop getting emails for comments on a particular story. For instance, look at this thread: http://www.socialmedian.com/story/142...

Join/Login Popup too long on smaller screens. The join/login popup is too long when using a smaller screen (1280x800), and there is no scrolling on the popup. The bottom of the popup is cut off by the bottom of the screen. I also have 3 toolbars visible in Firefox in addition to the menu and address bar, so my visible area is not as large as others.

Topic and Source relevance rankings could be easier.Another idea on the new network noise. There is the topic relevance that you can adjust and the source relevance rankings that are also adjustable. I am not sure if merging the lists makes sense, but keeping them separate also does not "feel" right. Maybe having the number of posts next to each topic/source that have been clipped/shared within the network would make the "relevance" more contextual.

Jason, thanks for replying. I realized that I was confusing the "Change Volume" link as something separate from the Noise Level. – Rob Diana, on September 25, 2008 21:30

Explanation of noise level, volume and topics. It would be good if there was a somewhat detailed explanation of noise level, volume and topics for news networks. It may seem a bit confusing to new users.

Michael,
I mean that I would need programmatic access. I looked at one of the feeds for dumblittleman.com and the RSS url is non-obvious from the "discovery" point of view. I would only have a URL that I would use to query your service in some way, and then get comments back in RSS, JSON or some other format? I think my request is almost identical to Ilya's above.
