Robert replied on July 18, 2009 21:44 to the question "Smartlook documents converted in Library, but still not working." in Issuu:
Hello,
Thanks for looking into this. I do see that it is working now as well. However, it did take over 4 hours to start working after being "converted" by smartlook.
1. Is it normal, or even possible for it to take this long to get processed by smartlook?
2. The strange thing, is that it only took about 2 minutes to be fully "converted" by smartlook. In other words, the documents were finished converting and displayed in my Issuu library normally after only 2 minutes. But for several more hours, they still were not coming up in Issuu viewer on my website. Is this something you have seen before?
Thanks,
Robert

Smartlook documents converted in Library, but still not working.I have been using smartlook successfully on my site for months now. 3 documents just got uploaded and converted by smartlook in my Issuu library. However, when I click on the documents on my website, they do not come up in the smartlook viewer, only adobe PDF viewer. All other documents on my site are still opening fine in the Issuu viewer, it's just these 3 new documents that were uploaded this morning. Why would they not be working if they are already converted in my Issuu Library?
Robert replied on April 27, 2009 21:18 to the question "Private vs. Public while using SmartLook" in Issuu:
I am using SmartLook, and I need to be able to have my entire Issuu Pro account be private, so that nobody can access my documents directly on Issuu.
My client is requesting that their documents are only accessible directly via their website. There is no login username/password used for their site. But they still require that their documents only exist on their single site.

I am having the same problem. My account "was" a Pro account. Then all of a sudden my document started showing up with the branding sidebar. So I am assuming that means I was downgraded to regular? How do I get it back to Pro again? I never received any email notification stating this was going to happen. Please help...
Note: It does not seem possible to "sign in" and then "enter information" for Issuu Pro. Because "newstand name" is a required field. But if you enter your existing one, it says it is taken already. So it forces you to enter a different newstand name to sign up for pro. What to do?

Issuu Pro - Banner Column Now Showing UpHello,
I have Issuu Pro, and make use of SmartLook on my website (www.vailmountaineer.intelligentdocs.com). For my latest document posted on that site, when I open it in Issuu Pro viewer, it shows the black banner advertisement column on the right side, (with "Related" and "Archive"). I thought this banner was only supposed to be in the regular version, not Issuu Pro?
For my previous documents the banner is not showing up, and never did show up. Only for the latest document: "Document_103.pdf"
Please let me know if you have any ideas of why this might be happening.
Thanks,
Robert
Robert replied on April 22, 2009 17:46 to the question "SmartLook Conversion Occassionally Not Working" in Issuu:
That is because I manually reformatted the non-working PDF's in Adobe Acrobat, and then re-uploaded/converted them to get them working. The actual conversion for the original PDF's never worked.
In fact, I removed those failed PDF's from the website, but they are still in my Issuu Library under the "failed" converting folder. They show up as white thumbnails.

PDF not converting into IssuuHello,
Most of the time my PDF documents properly convert when they are uploaded/processed by Issuu (in particular, I am using SmartLook). However, sometimes my PDFs do not properly convert. They just continue to appear as a blank/white document thumbnail in my Issuu Library.
My clients generate their PDF documents using Adobe Indesign. Are there certain settings in Adobe Indesign that should be followed when exporting the document to PDF format? And/or is there anything that can be done in Adobe Acrobat to format the document to ensure it will properly convert in Issuu?
Thanks,
Robert

SmartLook Conversion Occassionally Not WorkingHello,
I have SmartLook working fine on my website (www.vailmountaineer.intelligentdocs.com), however occassionally it gets stuck in the conversion process for some PDF documents. All documents on the website are PDF format. And they are all very similar (for a newspaper), with a proportional number of images, text, etc. Most of the time SmartLook conversion has been working fine. But since yesterday, two of the documents have been hanging/stuck in the conversion process (when I view them in "My Library") in my Issuu Account, under "Converting". Please let me know if you have any suggestions about this.
Thanks,
Robert

Robert replied on April 08, 2009 19:29 to the question "Can I remove the "Share" button at the top when "Zoomed-in" on the viewer (using SmartLook)?" in Issuu:
I am currently using SmartLook for my client's website. Is there any way to have SmartLook mark each document in my profile/account as private?
Ideally, I would like to only have visitors of my client's website view the document while they are actually on the website. I want to prevent the situation where they would be able to view the document from the Issuu website, under my account.

Can I remove the "Share" button at the top when "Zoomed-in" on the viewer (using SmartLook)?I am using SmartLook, and was able to successfully use my own theme (layout.xml), as per the instructions you have posted here: http://getsatisfaction.com/issuu/topi...
In my theme, I have removed the "Share" button (this was my client's request) from the main menu. However, when I "Click to Zoom" on the document, a "Share" button appears at the top of the "Zoom" menu (next to the Read/Drag button). Is there any way to specify that the "Share" button should not appear here?
In full-screen mode, when I Click to zoom, the Share button does not appear. It only seems to appear when I Click to zoom from the regular "magazine" view mode.

KH,
I have posted my code/reply on tempcode for you to take a look at. Let me know if you have any questions about it. Essentially it comes down to using Firebug in Firefox to see how the browsers are "actually" rendering your code. It is very important that the Issuu script be rendered as a direct descendent of the <body></body> and not contained within any other elements at browser/website runtime.
