@Sherman: Excellent point!
From the perspective of a company, this is pretty scary - as your forums mature (i.e. become more valuable to you), you get locked in to where, as Sherman says, it's not practical to meet the permission requirement.
Unfortunately I don't see a solution here other than a change to the TOS that somehow gives some sort of [limited?] license to company's. And somehow I don't see that sitting well with the GetSatisfaction team... but maybe I'm wrong.
A comment on the question "road trip tool crashed" in Bit Above Software:
What to/from locations are you typing in? I just tried it with "boston" and "seattle", on FF3.0.4 on WinXP, and didn't have any problem. It finished the map/directions in < 10 seconds. – Robert Kieffer, on December 09, 2008 17:09

How do I print NPRRoadTrip directions?Just print the page like you would any other web page. In most browsers, this will print the map and directions more or less as they appear on your screen.
Tip: If you want to print detailed maps for different sections of your trip (which may be useful on routes where there are a lot of stations), just scroll and zoom the map to the desired section before printing. If you want to print more than map for the same route, be sure to only print the first page, otherwise you'll end up with lots of copies of the same directions.
Tip: IE7 users, you may want to go into the Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced tab and check the "Print background colors and images" checkbox (in the "printing" section). This will keep the radio stations in the map from being "see through" when printed.

How do I share/bookmark NPRRoadTrip directions? Each time you search for directions, the URL contains all the information needed to find those directions again. So just share or bookmark the URL like you would any other.
For example, here are the directions to get from my town to Las Vegas:

This is a bug - the "Asking Google for directions" step shouldn't take more than 10-15 seconds. The tool now displays an error when this happens so you (and others) won't be left wondering what's going on.
If you are seeing the error ("Hmm... this is taking too long"), please try refreshing the page to see if the problem happens again. If the problem doesn't go away after 1 or 2 tries, please add a comment below with the following information:
- Browser and browser version (e.g. IE 7, Firefox 2, Safari 3)
- Operating system (e.g. MacOSX, WinXP, WinVista, etc.)
- Type of internet connection (e.g. dsl, cable, dialup)

Robert Kieffer replied on August 27, 2008 14:07 to the question "Is Earthlink on Get Satisfaction?" in Get Satisfaction:
Just to clarify Eric's probably-too-subtle hint: You'll probably want to have your discussions about EarthLink in the forums at this URL: http://getsatisfaction.com/earthlink
Any company reps from EarthLink that start participating on GetSatisfaction will probably only look for conversations over there (as well as other EarthLink users). This forum is about the GetSatisfaction service itself (i.e. questions/issues/suggestions about the way the GetSatisfaction website works). Continuing your discussions here just means you'll have to copy paste anything interesting into that other forum later on.-

Amy, this all sounds good. Very good, actually. Here are some initial reactions:
# Flag purgatory: I think this is a good idea, but would this be the default behavior for any flagged item? I'm not so sure you want all users to be able to hide an item by flagging it - perhaps only company moderators this ability?
# Change history: I like this idea a lot. I think it's a good accountability tool for both companies and users. The only case where this might be a little problematic is where sensitive/proprietary information is concerned. A company will want to have a way to completely remove that information from the system. I guess the "flag for deletion" solution would have to be used.
# Trust mechanism: I'll be very curious to hear more details about how that will work. Asking companies to pay for the right to moderate their forums, while simultaneously agreeing to submit to have those rights revoked if abused will be an interesting sell. You'll want to have a very clear statement of what constitutes "abuse".
# Editing your own content: Awesome! Just remember the right to edit my own content is something I consider to be "inate". It shouldn't be a "for pay" feature.
Thanks for listening!
P.S. I know this is premature, but do you have any idea how long it will take you to put these changes in place?
Robert Kieffer reported a problem in Zenbe on July 22, 2008 11:33:
Can't see/edit the last item in a listProblem
It may not be possible to see or interact with the last item in a list. This happens on lists that have enough items to fill the iphone screen. The last item is hidden behind the green bar at the bottom of the screen and cannot be scrolled into view.
Suggested Workaround
Add a new item to the list (call it "end", or something like that). Then mark it as completed. This will move the new item to the bottom of the list, making the hidden item visible.
Status
This has been fixed, and will be available in v1.2 of the app. See the Zenbe Lists FAQ section on release dates for more details.
