Media Monkey can sync to iPhones / iPod Touch. It's not perfect as it only supports music and podcasts and requires itunes to be installed, but it's a start. Only problem is that MM is not open source project.
So it's doable

I agree totally with Marc's comment above. According to my google reader there are over 2000 people subscribed to the songbird blog yet it only posts on average 0.5 items per week (and i expect that comes in bursts).

I fortunately read the wiki but i bet not many of those 2000+ people do so they wouldn't know that the roadmap was greatly updated just the other day. A blog post would be nice. As Marc said "You gotta show love to the community-at-large out there. Keep their mouths watering, as it were."

Is anyone looking into an updated version of Album List add-on mentioned in above post? This is what I would say is now my top request for songbird.

Yeah i downloaded 1.1 yesterday expecting this as a feature but couldn't find it. I'm stuck in my old ways of sorting everything into albums and then by artist, with the album art inline with the track listings (couldn't do this either).

Is there a definite plan for these, the roadmap seems to be in need of updating before you lose direction.

Nice solution Adam. I'm on Vista so i use the mobility centre an put the laptop in presentation mode to disable the screensaver
