Just wanted to let you know that the problem seems to be finally fixed for me as of now. I'm back to my followers/followings PLUS the ones added in the meantime.

All followers and people I'm following are STILL gone, except the few that I could track down again. Since these were fairly new friends, I don't remember how to find them all. So, while some people seem to be reporting that at least some of their folks have been restored, mine have NOT, not at all.

Is there a central location where we can get updates on this? It has now branched out into redundant discussions.

Only been a twitter member for a couple of weeks. Was following maybe 20-30 people, and had maybe 8-10 followers (of which 4 or so are maybe spammers as they didnt seem to exist anymore last time I checked, a few days ago).
As of today I'm down to 2 followers, and following 4. Are they all going to be recovered, or do I have to go around and attempt to rebuild manually? How long should I wait? It seems like it's been this way since late last night (US time).

So, it appears that some people have gotten their counts back...why some and not all? I am not happy about having to go back and re-add all my twits. Please, fix fix, fix.....

I'm missing a handful of my follows and a large chunk of my followers. In some cases, I've been completely disconnected (i.e., I was unfollowed and I stopped following).

Have recovered most people I'm following by re-following. My followers dropped from high 40s to 17, only people who have refollowed have incremented (total of 21 right now).

so.... what's your personal twitter backup strategy? Since your followers and following are in microformats, someone could write a page parser to at least create a backup file for you...anyone up for this? if you're a ruby programmer, check out the mofo gem. I'd do this but I think my fiancéé would rather I be planning our wedding (next week!) right now...
