Categories for Stock PricesIt would be very nice to be able to sort Stock Prices into categories; e.g., Mutual Funds, Stocks, Bond, Other Funds (for example - my retirement fund is share-based, but has to be updated manually). This way I can concentrate on stock prices or mutual funds without having to see the entire list.

Nope.
You have to create the new loan having a Principal (X) equal to the one you want to pay off.
Then, knowing your actual principal (Y) from you actual loan you determine an equivalent "points paid" (PP) by:
PP = 1 - (Y/X).
This is "equivalent" as this will probably not reflect the actual points paid to close the loan
Next, use Tools - Edit Accounts - New - Loan. Use X and PP for the following fields:
Principal = X
Points = PP
Enter the other fields as needed.
MoneyDance will then calculate the actual balance based on your theoretical PP. This will only show up once you are done creating the loan. The calculated balance should be the actual loan amount.
Luckily MoneyDance allows you to enter the points out to 9 decimal places so that the calculated balance will reflect the actual loan amount.
This is a truly backwards way of doing this.

Pay off/Refinancing loansHow does one "pay-off" a loan (mortgage) and open another loan (refinanced mortage - different bank) with a slightly higher balance (due to closing costs and points)? I think what I want to do is create a new loan for the total amount, and transfer only a part of that to pay off the remaining balance of the first loan. However, when I try this the whole amount from the new loan is transfered to the old loan; e.g., I can't specify the balance to pay-off.

Imported investment cash account is negative.I have imported 95% of my MS Money data into MoneyDance. So far, so good. The problem is that I have an allotment from my pay automatically deducted and put into a stock retirement-type account. This cash is then used to by stock/mutual funds.
When this account was imported the cash account was negative.
I need to know how to zero-out the cash account. I could do this by adding allotment entries for each pay period, but there is no way to do this. So, how do I fund the investment account with cash so that the cash account can go to zero?
Basically, it would be nice to be able to add an allotment to the cash account.
