I have the same issue with m4a files. They are definitely supported and will work if copied manually!
I could be wrong but it seems that all devices which support aac also support m4a but do not necessarily list them in the mtp info. Would it not be possible to simply say that aac=m4a

Songbird does pause after waking up/resuming from Sleep/Suspend

Songbird 1.0 doesn't pause when a Windows Vista X64 machine enters sleep, as a result when resuming it will continue playing.

Really quite embarrassing when you've put it to sleep at and wake it up in a public place!
