Ron set one of Ron's replies as an official response to "What are kwiry Shortcuts?" in kwiry
Ron replied on December 31, 2008 23:59 to the question "What are kwiry Shortcuts?" in kwiry:
What are kwiry Shortcuts?
You can now use kwiry to directly add movies to your Netflix queue, get Amazon results straight to your e-mail, and add appointments to your calendar!
For example, if a friend recommends a movie at lunch, simply text “netflix” followed by the movie title to 59479 (k-w-i-r-y). kwiry automatically adds the movie to your Netflix queue and the movie arrives on your doorstep – no more scribbling down the name on a napkin or forgetting the recommendation.
kwiry’s Shortcuts feature includes the following services:
• Netflix: Send a message with “netflix” followed by the name of a movie to kwiry (e.g. netflix mystic river) and the movie will be added to your Netflix queue. More here.
• Amazon: Text “amazon” followed by the name of a product (e.g. amazon jawbone headset) to get search results straight to your e-mail. More here.
• Yelp: Text "yelp Grimaldis Pizza" and get contact info, reviews and more from Yelp sent to your e-mail inbox. More here.
• Status: Text "status headed to the gym" and kwiry will update your Facebook and/or Twitter accounts. More here.
• Contact: Text "contact johndoe@gmail.com" to email contact info and Vcard attachment while on the go. More here.
• Task: Add an appointment to your calendar via text message using the shortcut word “task” (e.g. task buy anniversary gift 8-25). More here.
• List: Send in multiple kwirys in one text message with the “list” shortcut (e.g. list alicia keys, www.chucknorrisfacts.com, get dry cleaning). More here.
• Private: Mark a specific kwiry private so only you can see it. Text “p” followed by your kwiry (e.g. p buy anniversary gift for sarah) and only you will see it at kwiry.com or on Facebook. More More here.
Here’s how to get started:
1. Sign-up here for a kwiry account if you haven’t already.
2. For the Netflix, status and contact shortcuts, add your credentials to your kwiry account here. Don’t worry, we only use your account information to get you signed up and encrypt your information to keep it completely private.
3. Next time you’re away from your computer and think of a movie you want to add to Netflix, product you want to check out, etc. - send in a kwiry via Text Message, Email, Twitter or Jott with the shortcut word first, e.g. “netflix mystic river”
4. Read your confirmation later in your email or in your inbox at www.kwiry.com
Away from your computer and want to remember all the shortcuts available? Just text "shortcut" to 59479 and we'll send you back a list of all the shortcuts. Want help with how to use a specific shortcut? Just text the name of that shortcut, like "netflix" to kwiry and we'll respond with info on how to use it!

Ron replied on December 31, 2008 23:54 to the question "How can I use kwiry with Twitter?" in kwiry:
1. Send in kwirys from your Twitter Account.
Are you a frequent Twitter user? Have their SMS Short-Code in your cellphone already? You can use the Twitter direct message feature to send in kwirys.
First - add your Twitter ID in the account page.
Then, use the direct message feature to send a message to the Twitter user "kwiry" and then type the content of your kwiry, for example - "d kwiry Alicia Keys". You won't get a reply text message, but we'll store your kwiry at kwiry.com and send you an e-mail too (depending on your notification preferences).
For our international users, international Twitter codes include:
Canada 21212
India 5566511
UK +44 762 4801423
2. Publish all your kwirys to Twitter.
To publish every public kwiry you send in to your Twitter account, go to your account page at kwiry and link your Twitter account with the check box selected for publish all your kwirys to Twitter.
3. Use kwiry to update your Twitter status.
To use kwiry to update your Twitter status, simply enable the kwiry Twitter shortcut. Go to your kwiry account page and enter your Twitter credentials. Next simply send a message to kwiry with the shortcut word "status" followed by your status message, e.g. "status shopping for last minute holiday gifts".
Ron replied on December 29, 2008 20:02 to the question "Can I use kwiry internationally?" in kwiry:
Hi "NoOneAvailable" - we'd certainly love nothing more than to expand globally. Unfortunately it's not so simple, it's very expensive and resource intensive and we don't have the financial or operational resources to do it right now as a small start-up. The process is unfortunately much more expensive and complicated than it ought to be.....
Ron replied on December 29, 2008 00:31 to the question "Can I use kwiry internationally?" in kwiry:
Hi Matt,
Please check the answer above about how to use kwiry internationally, pasting it again:
kwiry's text messaging short-code only works with US cell providers. For international kwiry users, there are two ways to send in a kwiry:
1. Email kwirys to save@kwiry.com from your phone or your computer. If you email from your phone, you'll need to make sure to add your phone's e-mail address to your account.
2. Use the kwiry Twitter integration. Twitter has short codes in Canada, India, and others. To learn more about our Twitter integration, take a look at the Twitter FAQ.
For Australia specifically, I believe you can use the UK Twitter long code.
Hope that helps!

Ron replied on December 17, 2008 19:30 to the question "Can kwiry text me reminders?" in kwiry:
@dawsvnn Thanks for the note and the suggestion! We definitely have it on our list of features we'd like to add, but you're right, it's not a feature currently available. You can add tasks to your calendar with kwiry which might have other notification systems (for example - Google Calendar has an option to send text messages for appointment reminders). In any case, thanks for the suggestion and we'll note it in our list of future features!

Ron replied on December 15, 2008 17:00 to the question "twitter link not working" in kwiry:
@ranomatic - sorry about this, just found out that Twitter changed their API (the way that we connect with them) and that was the problem with the account linking. We've changed it to their new method and it should work now. Please try again to link your account at www.kwiry.com/account and let us know whether it works. Thanks for your patience and persistence!
Ron replied on December 15, 2008 16:15 to the question "twitter link not working" in kwiry:
@ranomatic - sorry you're still having trouble. Can you send and email to feedback AT kwiry DOT com with your kwiry account info (email you use to login to kwiry). Also, let us know if your twitter login or password have any special characters (symbols, etc.)? Once we get your info, we'll get it fixed and let you know. Thanks!

No worries, we're happy it works! Just want to make sure for those that do add "kwiry", they don't get taken aback by the read-back. nbr - let us know if using dial2do to send kwirys works for you or if you encounter more issues.
Alan - let me know if you want to chat with us (kwiry) about this.
thanks!
Ron replied on December 11, 2008 17:54 to the idea "I have an idea for a new service: kwiry." in Dial2Do:
nbr- Thanks for getting the conversation started!
Alan - would be happy to chat. We tested dial2do with save@kwiry.com as well. One issue we noticed was the formatting of the e-mails sent can cause some issues, particularly the line of space at the beginning of each e-mail, our parser sees the rest of the message as a potential e-mail signature so ignores it....
Another issue, when adding the word kwiry to the address book as a custom command, the text to speech engine reads it as "kilowatt eery". Same has happened to us in other speech to text engines. Anyway you can manually correct it to read back "kwiry", pronounced like "query" with a long e "ee"?
thanks!
