The pages that any Writer could see had not been put into the appropriate Custom Security folders, which is why they were visible and accessible to any writer.

I am logged in as a writer without privileges to any of the group's folders, however; I can still see their activity in "Recent Actvity" and there are active liinks to the secured pages, This happens if I am logged in as a writer or admin, I also logged in yesterday with some students (writer access) and they had access to ALL links in "recent activity, even if it wasn't their groups folder. If I log out completely, I'm out and can't see a thing. (this is a private wiki)

Then it appears to be working properly. Perhaps Casey is correct, and you are logged in with privileges. How does your 'Recent Activity' look when you log out completely?

I can't access any of Donna's pages or folders and I can not see the page in the recent activity. This is what I see in Recent Activity:

I just created a page called 'Donnas Page', and placed it in a folder called 'Donna'. The page has no special security, and the folder is limited to Admins. Visit the V2.0 Forum Demo Wiki, and see if you can see the page in Recent Activity, or if either of those links let you see anything.

Are you logged in as yourself, or with an Account with lower permissions?

I have private folders set up and anybody can click on the recent activity and access the SUPPOSIVELY private pages that have recently been edited.

Workarounds are being found every day to extend PBwiki in ways PBwiki did not originally intend. Guy Fawkes and widget2.pbwiki.com are probably your best bet for information of this sort.

I do have one question though - Why do you want to hide the Recent Activity?

Donna, the original poster here is referring to the tabbed sidebar, a feature only found on V1.0 wikis. There is no way to remove the odious Recent Activity feature from V2.0 (as you well know). – Guy Fawkes, 6 days ago

Sinful Seven Layer Bars Melt 1 stick of margarine in a 9x12 pan, stir in 1 tsp. vanilla. Mix 1 Tbsp. flour into 1 1/2 c. Graham Cracker crumbs, sprinkle evenly over the melted mixture and pat into a crust. Layer on a cup of each of the following: flaked coconut, butterscotch chips, and semi-sweet chocolate chips. Pour a can of Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk over all (it;s the 'glue'). Sprinkle one cup of chopped pecans over all. Bake at 325 degrees for 25 - 30 minutes until the top is pale golden brown.
