BUT - I was talking about DMs (direct messages) where you would not write the @ but DM in front of the name.

Sometimes I want to send a direct message in twitter to someone. If I have not received or written a direct message to a follower of mine or a person I am following his/her name obviously will not sow up in the messages tab of twitter.

It would be nice to have a drop down menu in the messages tab with all the names of my contacts and I could select and immediatly compose a direct message.

I know Eventbox is still a work in progress ;-) but.... any news on "Twitter Conversations" ? Currently its a pain in the behind when its "getting busy" on Twitter.

I would love to see an option called "Tweet about it!" - if I for example have a new Google Reader Post or a new Flickr Picture that I think is interesting it would be nice to have a button next to events "Tweet about it!" this would result in a Twitter message with a short URL to that image/article right inside that I just have to add text to.

I know you can already copy that URL - but as I stated somewhere else before - I am lazy and a button makes my life more comfortable ;-)

I would also love a view like hahlo.com With all the Twittering going on a clean "Conversation" View is very important to keep track.

Automatically mark as read - "better way"

I like the "Automatically mark events as I scroll past them" function - but it seems a bit "too sensitive". I would like for it to mark the Events that are "under my mouse cursor" to be marked as read.

Currently it marks something as read as soon I am in the Twitter View and the next Tweet shows up at the bottom and I scroll.

A good example of how it would be great is Google Reader. Only the events that my mouse cursor hits while scrolling are marked as read.

OOps geesh hehe sorry for requesting something that is already there. I thought the Speaker crossed out was only for audible cues. But thats cool that its already in there :-)

I love the way Cosmic Machine communicates with it's customers on Twitter. Also the frequent updates to the app shows me I invested my money in an app that is cared about by its authors. I do not regret purchasing it and hope for many more features/updates.

Two great ideas - stolen :-)

Here are two ideas that I blatantly "stole" from another Twitter application - but I really like the stuff so I am suggesting it for my now #1 Social Network Client - Eventbox :-)

PAUSE BUTTON:
Sometimes we all need to work interruption free. Put Twitter ( or in case of Eventbox - ALL Social Netowrks ) on pause and updates will still be downloaded in the background, but Syrinx won’t display them or alert you until you Resume.

TWITTER RATE LIMITS:
Twitter is well known for lowering their rate limits when the servers become overwhelmed or during heavy load periods. If you run out of requests, you can wait up to an hour to get more, and no one wants to miss tweets. Syrinx includes an option to dynamically adjust it’s request rate to stay under any request limits. Syrinx will automatically space out your remaining requests for the hour to make sure you don’t miss a tweet.

Isn't the idea that EventBox sort of ~replaces FriendFeed?

It would be nice though if it was automatically shortened ( yeah I know I am a lazy person )

Just like EventBox "needs" a picture support in Twitter it also needs to automatically use short-urls for links posted in a tweet.

Actually I do not care much WHICH service is being used - but having pic support in EventBox ist a "must-have" these days.

I'd love to simply drag a picture inside the Twitter message box and Eventbox does the rest and inserts the picture url for me.
