A comment on the question "Move Email attachments off Iphone to PC without internet?" in mAPPn Inc.:
After some further research I have found PCnow @ http://pcnow.webex.com/MyWebExWeb/MyW...
this may provide a solution for some people who have a similar need but you will appreciate it is not quite what I have explained above, I plan to kick off a free trial and initiate a separte blog which may be of interest to others. If it is a good as it sounds then we have some vast opportunities for "citrix" type server applications from a home server. – ross271258, on January 07, 2009 04:49

Can Itunes sync iphone using Adhoc Wifi or Blue tooth?Does itunes only sync to the Iphone using the USB port and cable link to the Ipnone ? Previously I used a Nokia phone and PC software to sync contacts and email at any time I came within (blue tooth) range of my Notebook (Vista). Handy option not to have to fuss with cables and keep contacts up to date without relying upon internet connectivity / mobileme and data costs. Here in Australia mobile ISP data costs are v.high.

I cannot answer your question directly but I use Vista on a Notebook and have no issues with sync, but when I plug the iphone jack into the USB port Vista seeks to open a camera browser, which I close down. This action is typical for any storage device plugged into a USB port. No big hassle considering so many other frustrations with Vista :) .... I hope this helps in some way.

Wireless file sharing with Discover looks great .... but, my ambition is to use the iphone 3G(V2.2) to receive emails as I travel & transfer any one of the attachments to a PC/Notebook without using the internet. The reason for this arrangement is that for temporary access to internet data (@hotels etc.) is v.expensive in Australia. I could get a wireless broadband data plan but I have this function with my Iphone & I do not want to pay for plans which have duplicate functionality. Previously I had used a Nokia N6120 as a modem with a small data plan to achieve this result, but have upgraded to iphone and lost the modem function for file transfer (directly as an email) onto the Notebook.
Any suggestions ??
