Locify hangs and freezes Blackberry during setupI installed Locify 8.1 on my Blackberry 8130 (Verizon) - I let Locify set the permissions and checked them - read / write is allowed - then I open the application and it tries to set up the root folder files. The BB says Locify is attempting to access local content and asks if I want to allow it - I say yes and the phone freezes. VERY annoying.

AJ - I am what would probably appropriately be termed an "internet shade -tree mechanic". Whats great about GeoPress and WordPress (for me) is they both help me get LOTS done without TOO much work "under the hood"; - in a nutshell I am not far enough with javascript programming to have much idea about what you are talking about - so I hope you'll pardon my ignorance, at least for the time being. Going forward, if I find anything that seems relative to what you mentioned, I'll pass it along.
Thanks as always for all your hard work and the great GeoPress tool.
P.S. I was fairly delighted to find none other than Google itself is on GetSatisfaction - Mapufacture is rubbing shoulders with the Big G ;-)
Anyway I left them a note about the Chrome probs - Chrome just updated itself on my box too so lets see how we go...
thx

Chrome cut / copy paste, form content problemsChrome is lightning fast but I am finding Chrome frequently misses text characters on the ends of strings when trying to select text to cut/copy and paste.
There are also times when text is selected, once you right click to select to copy or cut, Chrome deselects the selected text.
Also, using the GeoPress Plugin in WP 2.6, when editing a post in the plain text editor if you choose a preexisting location from the GeoPress list it disappears as soon as you scroll up/down the page. I am ending up flipping over to FF to set up my map (works fine in FF) I have reported this issue to GeoPress devs as well

I suspect this is Chrome's fault and not GeoPress - Chrome is lightning fast but in addition to this GeoPress issue I am finding Chrome also frequently misses text characters on the ends of strings when trying to select to cut/copy and paste - i.e. filling in the misc. GeoPress form boxes using other text in a post...
This is not the appropriate venue for a Chrome discussion so I'll end things here and discourage Chrome specific followup.
Ryan Sarver replied on September 03, 2008 21:19 to the question "BlackBerry / lat - lon input" in Loki:
Richard,
Unfortunately Blackberry's OS doesnt have APIs to give us access to the wireless adapter on the device. We obviously need that to do Wi-Fi positioning. At this time we aren't considering a version of Loki Mobile that only uses cell tower positioning.
Glad you like the FireEagle integration. Its a great service and we are happy to be working with them.
Best, Ryan

BlackBerry / lat - lon inputAny plans to make Loki available on Blackberry - preferably with support for cel tower positioning via Google Maps Mobile :)
I like that you and Fireeagle "talk" to each other :)
I am looking all over for an app that updates my path automatically as I go - via cel tower also allows manual input of lat / lon (hiking in areas where no towers and using standalone GPS)
I want it!
thx

GeoPress display problem / K2GeoPress has always worked well for me for the most part - especially with some past tlc at times from AJ Turner (thx again) - There is one ongoing glitch I have using K2 - the map displays with about a 10px blank background at the top and the zoom controls are misaligned - I have searched high and low in my CSS for many hours using Firebug and all over the web for a fix and have in fact just reported this problem to the K2 developers http://code.google.com/p/kaytwo/issue... I cant seem to find the magic bullet that will fix this. Suggestions? Ideas? See my profile http://getsatisfaction.com/people/rrh... for the link to my site. - thx-
