I have a DELL COMPUTER AND NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS OVER 3 YEARS AND THEY CAN'T FIX IT. THEY JUST SEND PARTS AND NOTHING EVER IS FIXED. DID YOU EVER HEAR OF HAVING TO REPLACE THE MOTHERBOARD 3 WEEKS IN A ROW? THEIR SOLUTION THEY ARE RESENDING ANOTHER MOTHER BOARD AGAIN, WEEK 4. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER 3 YEARS

Nice to know I am not alone. Bought a new Dell XPS 1530, paid over 2100.00 for it. It is a piece of junk. Crashes on a daily basis. Dell has replaced the hard drive, and sent it back to their repair shop twice. Still doesn't work. The computer is less than 2 months old and they won't replace it. They did say they would replace it, BUT since it has been more than 21 days they will only replace it with a USED computer!!! So far I have filed a complaint with the BBB and attorney general. Good luck!

Hi had a bit of success today. Got an email from BB and DFS responded saying a letter had been sent to me. Guess what, I got it today. So armed with the letter and the security info they have asked me for again and again I called. This time I was able to have them to release the hold. BB wanted to know if I considered this resolved -- not so fast -- not until I receive the check and it clears. will keep you posted.

Similar problem here....except I have moved 3 or four times since I have used my account. I have no idea where they are sending that letter but my dad who happens to have the same name as me received a letter with my account number on it telling me to call Dell. Of course I already have that information and there has been no other letters thus far.

Well the saga continues. Tried calling them yesterday to follow up on the stopping the autopayments at least. Guess what? You can't do it without going through the verification process. Guess what? They can't continue with the verification process. This I finally found out after being transferred from their verification department to their collection agency, who then told me they had sent me there in error. They didn't have anything on file. I called back and was put on hold for 10 minutes then transferred to a number that then disconnected me because it was out of service. I called again this time I asked Alex (72..) for his ID number he hung up on me after the first 2 digits figured I should something since everyone there has gotten all my so-called private information to verify my identity. Finally after all that they repeated that they sent me a letter and as soon as I receive it I should call them back. I asked Eperanza if she could tell me what was in the letter. She told me no. I'd have to wait. I then asked when this letter would be coming. She told me she couldn't say. So here I wait. Oh and she did want to know if she could do anything else for me and that I should have a nice day. Huh!
FYI - The Better Business Bureau emailed that they are following up on my complaint. Haven't heard anything from the FCC yet...waiting on that. Hope to get this mystery resolved soon.

I have the same problem. I got sent to their so called Verification Department several times and got the same response. Each time it went the same way. They'd ask for home phone (of which I changed in the past year) so I gave them both, then my home/billng address (which I gave them both), then mother's maiden name. Oh and they asked for my social or account number from the get go. Then after 5 minutes of holding they'd come back on and say they couldn't verify my ID...which BTW they must read off of some que cards because it was the same monotonous tone each and every time.
Look, I just want to get a refund on my overpayment -- same address they have on file, name hasn't changed. They send their billings there. I get those. They sure didn't have a problem taking the money or needing my identity verified when receiving funds.
I think their Verification Department is a farce. Why do they need to verify your identity to refund monies that don't belong to them. It should be done automatically. I shouldn't have to ask for it.
Now on top of that I have it set up for automatic withdrawal from my checking. Well since I have an overpayment you'd think they wouldn't take anything out but I'm not taking anything for granted with these people, I read in their FAQs that it actually needs to be cancelled or the withdrawals will continue. Now I wonder if they'll send me to the Verification Department again... In the meantime I've contacted my bank to see if there is a way for me to stop payment, just in case. I won't be able to have this wonderful experience until Monday when the saga continues.
This has been the most frustrating experience I've ever had with a financing company. I complained to the Better Business Bureau and wondering who else. I need to get this resolved.

I have the same frustraion, I think when you ask to talk to supervisor, they just give you their buddy in the next cubicle. If enough of us complain, maybe they will see that they are losing business & improve. However, DELL products have NOT performed well for me...glad you are having better luck there

Bill, thank you so much for your persistence. Your comment was forwarded to me e-mail. But it would not let me reply back. This is a long story, I will try to shorten it.... Since January I have had 3 hard drives go bad. The DELL techs that came to install said my serge protector is more than enough & I am not doing anything wrong. after I had the last installed I could not load anything ...I demanded a new Vostro 1700. When I signed up with DELL financial, they lied to me and said that no problem would take more than 3 business days. Almost 1 MONTH later I recieved a new Vostro I am trying to run an internet business. Try doing that without a computer.....When the new Vostro arrived, I still could not load anything, not even my DELL 1320c printer. (try running a business without a printer) I complained, Emailed, called thch support 2 times. STILL, I could not load anything FINALLY, I did some reading and figured out how to do my own diagnostic...THE RESULT; error code 0F00137B msg;CDRW-4 drive media is missing or blank. I called DELL again (now I have lost my temper) and instead of taking my word for it and getting to fixing my problem, the tech kept me on the phone for 3 hours before she finally came to she same conclusion. (3 hours of my life I will never get back) I do not trust her judgement, it seems all the phone techs I have talked to are not helping me as they should..(7 months of problems prove this) She says I need another hard drive. I am counting on you Bill, you look like you have a friendly face and with your persistence you must care AND YOU MUST LOVE TO SOLVE PROBLEMS What is really going on here. The last tech I talked to tried to load the software to run my printer from the DELL website (this took about 1 hour of time) No matter what we did I could not download this and I still cannot use my printer, The only application I can do is internet. I NEED TO LOAD AND DOWNLOAD MY PICTURES AND PRODUCTS TO MAKE A LIVING ....MY business will soon be bankrupt. for 7 months I can sell very litte, but my business bills (including DELL business account go on) I have not had a reliable computer but DELL will not adjust my bill, and I do not trust their judgement on this problem either. If you like solving problems as much as I hope you do this should be a challenge...Thanks for listening – RUNTSKIN, on July 24, 2008 18:11
