Russ replied on April 12, 2009 23:26 to the problem "I can't burn DVDs" in muvee:
With all the problems I have been having with Muvee reveal, I decided to test it to destruction.Having ripped two or three Gbs off a couple of DVDs to use as source material I added these large avi files on to reveal for editing.Having split the files into clips, I edited my way through them until I had 17 min 41 sec of video to which I added some music having set them up in style "Reflections"
Problem was Reveal would neither let me save them or burn to DVD.It just froze each time I attempted either task.
I turned to windows Movie maker, loaded in the large avis, succesfully edited them then saved them as a DVD compatible movie.
I then loaded this file into reveal ,added a sound track passed it through Reflections then succesfully burned it to a DVD. Great! 17mins 41 secs of movie and it only took 3hrs and34mins.
As a precaution Ihad saved the movie as a Mpg-2 which I proceeded to burn to DVD using Windows DVD maker. That task took 10 mins 27secs. Same quality as the above.....NO CONTEST.
Taking Yih Yeong's advice I downloaded an Upgrade (Build 2078(42))After successfully installing the program I proceeded to test it by attempting to burn the same movie (you remember the one which was 17mins 41 secs long)to DVD.After 30 mins I was still at only 9%
It was at this point I hung myself...
No,thats a lie. If that were true I would not be here demanding a refund for a piece of software that,as far as I can see is only useful for putting a few fancy transitions into a movie.

Thanks Yih Yeong, but where do I find the download? – Russ, on April 09, 2009 12:16
Russ gave praise in muvee on April 07, 2009 14:44:
Two minutes of heaven from one hour of HellI have to say though, that the 1min 59secs of Muvee I did manage to burn to DVD was of a better quality than when I burned via Roxio,

I can't burn DVDs"Reveal"
I am starting to have a love- hate relationship with the above product. First there was the problem with"Voice over" not functioning. I solved this by repairing the
install. The second issue (Lack of Sync when using voice over) was due to my inexperience, and is now solved.
One thing I can't solve is the DVD burning issue. It is nigh impossible, using this software. I did actually managed it once, but over one hour to burn 1min 59 seconds of Muvee to a DVD is downright rediculous. I can get round this problem by saving as an Mpg2 to my computer then burning to disc using Roxio. but even this method is hit and miss because Reveal has problems when the file size is approaching 1gb and usually crashes at 99%.
So is there a patch for "Build label 7.0.40.8982 Build no.2056" that would address this problem, or should I just count my losses and dump this software???

A comment on the question "voice over out of sync with scene when muvee is finished" in muvee:
The "Out of Sync" was observed both in the preview and the saved Muvee. However, I have solved the problem by paying more attention to the turn of the pages when using the Scrapbook style, and ensuring that my commentary falls where it is supposed to. So no need to proceed any further with this issue. I have other issues to complain about ,but i will post them later. Thanks ,Russ – Russ, on April 06, 2009 21:28

Russ asked a question in muvee on April 02, 2009 23:20:
voice over out of sync with scene when muvee is finishedwhen you add "Voice over" to a muvee it appears out of sync with with the final Muvee. So a remark made over a certain scene can turn up later or earlier than the scene that it is intended to describe.Especially so,when using a style like Scrapbook.
