Thanks Linda. I loved hearing your feedback. It makes me hopeful that my students will also enjoy poking around, creating, and growing their ideas in the wiki. With thanks, Ruth – Ruth, on August 24, 2008 22:24

Thank you for all of your comments. I have now credited all my clip art using the great suggestion from the Sassy Librarian. I have also replaced the opening slide show and any other photos with photos of my own! Thank you!!! – Ruth, on August 21, 2008 13:30

Sassy Librarian- I love your name and your suggestion! Sounds like a great way to use a source citation for an image. Thanks! – Ruth, on August 20, 2008 18:40

Hi Pam. Thanks for your comment. I'm glad you got some ideas from my wiki. You definitely have my permission to use my etiquette. Mine is actually a revised version of our pbwiki camp etiquette, I gave credit to the camp site. I'm also very perplexed by Creative Commons, and am trying to figure out how to credit my clip art and how to make sure the clip art I used is all right. I'm thinking of changing all of my clip art to my own photos and art work of my students. It's a bit overwhelming thinking of how much I have to change- I used a lot of clip art! – Ruth, on August 20, 2008 18:34

Help me please! I understand that all sources and images should be footnoted. This is the first time I ever created a web / wiki site, and I used a lot of clip art that I found on google image search to make my wiki inviting for my fifth graders. Should I put a footnote for every image with its URL? You can take a look at my wiki to get an idea for how I used clip art: https://readdiscovernewworlds.pbwiki.... Once school starte I could eventually change the clip art to images drawn by my students. Also do you need to footnote google gadgets?

Wow! It's exciting reading all of these different possibilities for user names. It opened me up to new ideas. I definitely want a user name that makes it easy for me to identify the student without using a list and that doesn't jeopardize the student's privacy. My students are in fifth grade so I was thinking of just using their first name, and their first name and the first initial of their last name if there are duplicate first names.

Hi, I'm excited about uploading video onto my wiki. I made a video today, and was only able to upload it by using You Tube. My video was in one of the accepted formats (wmv) and when I tried to upload it directly from my computer (without posting it on You Tube) I get a message that "this video is not currently available." Can you please explain what I'm doing wrong? Thanks,
Ruth Aichenbaum

I want to become more skillful creating a wiki and more knowledgeable about all of the amazing things you can do with wiki. To be more specific, I would like to learn how to add things to my wiki like plug ins, slide shows, and video, and I want to know if it's possible to add features like this without using up too much space. I'm very excited about this summer camp and so appreciative of all of the thought and time you've put into it!
