That is also a concern or rather a preference of mine, if the Wallstreeter Laptop Bag I'm really digging is US made, then I will definitely get it, even if costs more. Please say that you do have this particular model produced locally... -

i was surprised that manhattan portage bags were not made in n.y. anymore myself, but as long as they are made in a safe and worker happy environment, i will continue to buy manhattan portage. -

In the past we did produce our bags domestically. Over the past five years in order to keep up with increasing demand of our products we did have to move production overseas.
Although we might produce some higher end products domestically in the near future, our core line will continue to be produced overseas.
We do not hide the fact that our production has moved, and we still use the same high quality materials that we always used. -

Domestically Produced BagsLast week I purchased a Dana Messenger Bag (1690) online. I really like the bag but am rather disappointed to see that it wasn't, as I'd initially supposed, made in the States. After reading the MP website more closely, I now understand why this is the case. However, I would have preferred - and paid more for - a bag produced domestically. I won't hazard a guess as to how many customers might share my opinion, but I'd bet it's more than a few.
