A comment on the problem "Growl Notifications are Broken" in Nambu:

The problem is one have to dig deep to find this setting and nothing indicates it is the thing to do. If you're not aware of this kind of settings, you'll probably not find it! I came across a strange problem. Growl notifications were apparently broken but Home messages notifications were actually disabled in Growl prefs (by default?). This occured on two macs (running 10.5 & 10.6).


After turning them on, it works as intended.

So auto shortening works quite well, but knowing the final character count in advance is crutial. Of course you can't satisfy everyone so no dedicated button, okay, but maybe adding a keyboard shortcut would be conceivable? :D – Sacha Quester-Séméon, on October 14, 2009 02:53

Having to click and select a menu item shen there's only one item in that menu to do what should be one-click or one keystroke away is overkill ans annoying. :)
