If anyone still has problems, like I had then do this:

I have McAfee Security Suite. It would not update to the 5623 DAT, either via the Update function or the manual way.

Uninstall and reinstall McAfee. I now have 5623 AND SPOTIFY!

I have McAfee SecurityCenter 9 and it wont download any new definitions, I'm stuck on the "ol' 5622" no matter what I do.

Update:
Trying to use the 5623xdat.exe to update the definitions won't work. It just tells me it can't find any "qualifying McAfee product".....oh joy!

I never, EVER adjust or change anti-virus settings when it reports a problem. It's there for my protection and I've not had a problem with a virus for over 4 years....(and I do all sorts of scary shit with my computer...)

No use in installing and uninstalling then, just wait and see.

Solution in the meantime:

a) Listen to you mp3's
b) Listen to the radio
c) Silence

Same happened here in Norway right now!

Using Spotify, writing on my thesis. Then suddenly Spotify closes, McAfee pops up with a warning for the W32/IRCbot.gen.z. It also said it couldn't remove or quarantine the file and recomended a reboot and scan.
