Flock does not update?I m using Flock 2.0.2. I clicked on Help and clicked Check for Updates and it told me there were no updates available. Then I checked flock.com and right there on the front page it tells me to download 2.5. So that's not an update?

Yes, I have MySpace and Facebook set to open in separate tabs when opening Flock. (Remember last session.)
That orange bar used to pop up all the time, but I thought if I messed with it, it would only encourage the People sidebar to stick around. Now that you tell me this, I don't see the orange bar at all! Is there another way to access it?
Thanks!

People sidebar - die, die! When checking or unchecking Sidebars in the View menu, my choice is remembered when I next open Flock. All, that is, except the People sidebar, which is always open, every time I start Flock, despite the fact that I have never used it and have to close it every single time I open Flock. How about fixing that?
Thanks!

ZoneAlarm update is deadZoneAlarm tells me to update. I click OK. It takes me to a page with a download link. I click it and something downloads. But the downloaded file is empty. 0 bytes. Where is my update?
When I try to contact the company to let them know they are serving an empty file, they tell me, "sorry, we don't provide tech support for the free version of Zone Alarm." What does that have to do with anything?
SaladGoat reported a problem in Rogers on December 20, 2008 04:42:
Rogers website poorly madeThe other day I received a notice from Rogers that the credit card on my Pay As You Go account was about to expire. That's all I read before logging on to their website to change it. But they changed their website since I was last there. I couldn't figure out how to find my details!
After logging in, it presents you with a menu to the left titled My Rogers. In the middle is a big ad that takes a third of the screen. Under that are options to deal with your account. I clicked on several "obvious" choices to change my credit card, all came back saying my account was not eligible for that feature or some such idiocy. I tried to use the Contact Us link, but realized that they had coded it to work only in Internet Explorer. Those of us smart enough to use Firefox would be unable to send a message. Which is what they want, I am sure!
I opened Internet Explorer and sent a message detailing my problem. I also mentioned their ignorance of Firefox users.
Later I tried to use the Contact Us page again (I don't remember why) and got an error that the server was unavailable. Yeah, right!
Eventually (the next day) I went back to the letter I received to read their instructions for changing the credit card online. After logging in, I am to select "Manage My Wireless Services". Huh? Where is that? Oh, it's way down at the bottom of the page, off the screen, in those boxes I was ignoring because they look like more advertising. OK, click.
Next step, select "Saved Payment Methods". Uhh, nope. It's not there. No such link.
So back to the Contact Us page, which is now fixed so I can use it with Firefox. I complain. (Do you think they get any compliments over there?)
Their response? I'm paraphrasing here but it went something like this:
We acknowledge that our website sucks and we are doing absolutely nothing about it. Please phone our customer service line and talk to Melanie, our idiot robot voice who can't understand a thing you are saying.
Fine. So I call Melanie and keep hitting the "0" key until she gives up on me and transfers me to a real person. Except, sorry, we don't believe in offering customer service when it's convenient for our customers. Please call back Monday, when everyone else is calling and tying up the lines.
The funny thing is that I have had no problems with the phone service and I would recommend Rogers to anyone. I think the wireless service is great. At least for my use. But if you need customer service, you might want to try somewhere else. Although I think this is beginning to be the norm rather than the exception....
SaladGoat replied on December 20, 2008 03:31 to the problem "Flock does not close properly" in Flock:
The only extension I use is NoScript. And even though I know that, I still just went and looked. Yes, only NoScript. And I use that (along with a few other add-ons) with Firefox as well and I have no problem with Firefox shutting down. This issue with Flock not shutting down properly has only arisen since the last update of Flock. Previously (and I've been using it for about a year now) it has always behaved as expected.
Also, since it doesn't hang every time, I'm not going to mess around with constantly rebooting in Safe Mode. I was just hoping there was a fix or, at least that I could alert the programmers to the problem and they can fix it in the next release.
Thanks.
SaladGoat asked a question in Flock on December 19, 2008 08:49:
How can I close the People sidebar?I don't use it. I don't want to use it. I close it, of course, using the little X in the corner. Duh. But how do I keep it closed? Every time I open Flock, the People sidebar opens. I have never used it. I cannot figure out how to make it stay closed.

Flock does not close properlyFlock does not close properly. It disappears from the screen, but is still running and using up 99% of the CPU and I have to close it through Task Manager. This doesn't happen every time, but often enough. I'm using Flock 2.0 and it says there are no updates available....
