Hey - clicking on the "Contact Support" link here -
http://www.xobni.com/support
shows a message
"That node is broken, sorry. Please restart."
Where do I send the zip file?
samking replied on July 22, 2009 05:51 to the problem "Xobni shows 0 files exchanged" in Xobni:
Will do -
Xobni shows the attachment in the preview window - when looking at one individual email. But the Files Exchanged pane shows 0.
It shows me files from another PST that I have open-it's an old backup. But it doesnt show me the files from the live connected server - perhaps because there's no PST configured to it? Outlook only keeps its own cache in a PST - but that's not a file I created and it's not attached specifically to the profile.
samking reported a problem in Xobni on July 19, 2009 15:07:
Xobni shows 0 files exchangedXobni doesn't show any files exchanged with my contacts. It has indexed my email several times. The search works like magic - it finds the contacts and messages I want instantly.
But it doesn't show me files at all - 0 files - even for emails that were sent/received after Xobni was installed - no chance it's not been indexed.
I am using Outlook 2007 with Oracle Connector to connect to an Oracle Beehive server (IMAP)
There are many emails that are only on the server, I can understand those not being indexed, but the ones in folders that are marked as "full download" are also showing ) files.

Apparently there is a bug for this already!

Safe mode? Yes
Add-ons and plugins disabled? Yes
Any change? No!
I want to know how to downgrade without losing my preferences, passwords, etc
samking asked a question in Mozilla on March 26, 2009 06:16:
Do disabled add-ons slow down FireFox?I have tons of add-ons installed, but I keep many of them disabled and enable them only when I need them for a specific purpose.
For eg. I have many web-development related add-ons, but I need only once in a while, so I keep them disabled till such time.
I need to know if this slows down Firefox in any way - it could be startup time, memory requirement or any other factors.
samking replied on February 14, 2009 09:08 to the question "gmail invalid security certificate" in Google:
Correct your system date
The security certificate has a validity date (as mentioned in the error), if your system time is ahead of that date, the browser shows the certificate as expired.
All you need to do is to correct the date and time in the windows clock from the system tray.
----------------------------------------
Cause
This happens mainly because we use the system tray clock/calendar to see a future date and when we are done, we click "OK" instead of "Cancel". This sets the system date to whatever we were looking at.
This is a usability problem, not your fault! Windows has conditioned us to click on "OK" when we are done with a task.
Long term solutions
Microsoft could handle this by having the user put the clock in edit mode before changing the date or time.
A lot of user's use it as a calendar + we don't change the date/time very often - so the editing functionality does not need to be so easy accessible.
In the meanwhile, browsers which release versions and patches more often than an operating system, could have the user check for the system date/time as a possible solution to this error.

samking replied on December 02, 2008 11:03 to the idea "How about "joining" data from 2 feeds" in Mozilla:
That's exactly my thought, how about a command that can query a specific Yahoo Pipe? That way you could mash up whatever your favorite search engines and parameters were and then just query that one Pipe.
Pipes has a "Get as RSS" feature that is basically a parametrized URL, and each pipe has it's own web address...so it should be simple enough to target that address and feed it the parameters typed in by the user.
For eg. "pipe news about mozilla" where 'news' could be a short name for a pipe that you subscribe to and 'about' a keyword (like 'to' for email) if left blank, it could just show the top 5 news articles.
See http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run...
I guess the tricky part is subscribing to a 'specific' Pipe, that could be achieved by 'cloning' a pipe and giving it a short name. For eg, the cryptic URL for the pipe I have can become simpler like
http://pipes.yahoo.com/sammy/news (this is achieved by cloning a pipe and then editing it's name, which Pipes allows you to do quite easily) the query is still run against the '_id' parameter, but now it has a short name that can be found by having the user logged in to Pipes.
Any idea if this is as simple as I make it sound? ;)
