Good news, It's fixed now. Mysteriously. I think deleting the com.apple.systempreferences.plist file did it, if anyone else is having the problem.

Erm, never mind the "see image" bit. Turns out it doesn't do the blank pane thing consistently. I'll put up a picture if it does it again.

Growl only works in one account
So, I tried to install Growl in my normal use account. The installer runs fine, says install was successful. It opens System Preferences, I click the Growl icon... And nothing. It sits there "Loading Growl..." for minutes, and then eventually just goes to a blank pane (see image). After five or six attempted install/uninstall cycles, I tried making a new account and installing it there. Growl loads and works perfectly in this new account. I switch back to my normal one and try to load it there, and still nothing. Anyone have advice?
