Hey Rune.
Excellent, I was hoping you'd get in touch. I have your patch in an integration branch and am ready to apply it or some variant of it.
You specifically don't use the neighbor relations and have some slightly complex logic about selecting adjoining hexes based on the lattice properties. Can you tell me why you choose to do it this way?
I've been somewhat distracted lately with my new project Rytme but I will be coming back to Elysium in the near future to try and make the final push to 1.0 but I'll try and put your patch into an interim release next week.
Thanks for contributing!

Can you tell me where you downloaded from?
I checked the download link from my site and it seems to be for the 0.9.5 version so I'm not sure how, at this point, you could have ended up with 0.9.3.

Okay based on what you posted from the console I have been able to deduce what is wrong.
If you go into the Elysium preferences and add your name and an email address you will find that you are able to save.
This shouldn't be necessary and will be fixed in a future release.
Thanks for bringing it to my attention, also that I haven't updated the download link.

Matt

Hi Justin.
Sorry you are having problems.
I have not heard about this problem before now and I just tried creating a new composition and saving it with 0.9.5 and it worked.
So a few questions:
Can you save any composition? What happens if you create a new, blank, composition and try to save it straight away?
Can you look in the console log (run the Console application) and see if Elysium is printing any errors there. It *should* pop up a dialog if it can't save but I know this area is not robust.
What kind of Mac do you have? Which version of Mac OS X?
You say you just started using 0.9.5 does that mean after upgrading? Or this is the first version of Elysium you have tried.
Hopefully we can get to the bottom of the problem.
Regards,
Matt

Okay I understand now. I've also been asked about other tunings in the past.
I've added this to the issue tracker as:
I can't promise any kind of timescale though. I'm already pretty far behind schedule on features I'd prioritized for the 1.0 release (and have since chucked into 1.1 to get 1.0 out any time soon).
It might be useful to understand better what you might do with this and how it would help musically...

Matt Mower replied on March 12, 2009 18:36 to the question "Midi Set Up" in LucidMac Software:
You shouldn't need to do anything to get MIDI out (the MIDI config panel is for getting MIDI into Elysium).
By default Elysium outputs MIDI on channel 1 for the first layer, channel 2 for the second and so on. If you have a CoreMIDI compatible app that needs it you'd hook up to the 'Elysium Out' endpoint.
I don't need to do that for Logic. I did for Native Instruments Kore (and other NI instruments).
For hardware I'm not certain as I don't have any. But I know Giles Bowkett was able to get Elysium to drive his MicroKorg and I don't remember him mentioning any problems with that.
Let me know in a bit more detail what you're trying to do and what your setup is and I'll do my best to help you.

A comment on the question "Can I control HD embedding?" in Motionbox:
My apologies -- I'm talking about the Pro membership and I realize I didn't make that clear in my post (I think I'd already spoken to Mona so I felt I had context).
The pro account you pay a flat rate of $0.25/GB for all video streamed. – Matt Mower, on March 12, 2009 00:06
A comment on the question "Can I control HD embedding?" in Motionbox:
I don't know about any other plans; What I am talking about is not limits but costs and my ability, or lack thereof, to control them.
Playing an HD video via vimeo.com itself cost me nothing. And I could decide which other sites I wanted to be able to embed HD. So I could control my costs by generally embedding SD and only embedding HD on sites, or for videos, that I thought were important enough.
With Motionbox I have no control. Anyone can embed the video anywhere - whether I think it's appropriate or not - and if it gets played I pay for those bits. – Matt Mower, on March 11, 2009 23:39
A comment on the question "Can I control HD embedding?" in Motionbox:
It's not clear to me how pay-per-play and pay-per-GB are really different. One is a proxy for the other and the issue, at least for me, is just the same.
I can't control where the video gets embedded but I have to pay when it's played. – Matt Mower, on March 11, 2009 23:20
Matt Mower replied on March 10, 2009 21:38 to the question "Can I control HD embedding?" in Motionbox:
If I have no control over where (and particularly the HD version) my videos can be embedded then they can be put anywhere, even places I don't want them, and I have to pay for the privilege.
I wasn't particularly sold on the Vimeo HD value proposition but they did give me the ability to control which sites could embed the HD version of my videos so I could decide when & where I wanted to eat that cost.

Matt Mower asked a question in Motionbox on March 09, 2009 23:45:
Can I control HD embedding?I'm coming from Vimeo and considering HD streaming I wonder if I can control which sites the HD version of one of my videos can be embedded in?
I tried looking at the help pages for embedding but they seem to be missing as you can see from this screencapture:

A comment on the question "Suggests for Elysium" in LucidMac Software:
The redesigned inspector always shows the current pane in its entirety so no adjustment is necessary.
The disadvantage is that you can only see one pane at a time. In practice I haven't found that to be a disadvantage, just different.
However the architecture of the redesigned inspector means that, in some future version, it may be possible to "tear off" inspector panes to keep important configuration options close at hand.
I'll be interested to hear your feedback once you've had a chance to use it. – Matt Mower, on March 08, 2009 17:21

Hopefully I've given you some useful feedback about your ideas. They're all good and you've prompted me to think about some things again.
Feel free to comment on each one to expand on your point of view.
The ticket references are to my Lighthouse issue tracker which is where I plan the features for each release milestone.

AFTER RESTART:
When we select and make some organisation (layout with notes and/or octaves), we lost all of theses statements after the restart. It could be nice, if we could retrieve the same organisation of the workspace, than in the last session.
Do you mean the layout of the windows? Or whether the display of octaves or keys is on/off?
I'm not really sure what you're after.
