Thank you for clearing this up for me.

Right now, you cannot save changes to a file directly to the wiki, so yes, you will need to make the changes offline and then upload the revised file. You do not need to delete the file; you should be given the option to replace the old file when you upload the new one.

Thank you Chris! I have one other question for you: Can an attachment be updated while it resides on the wiki page or is the only way to update an attached file to delete it and replace it with a new file?

Here's the step by step process I followed to do this on my wiki:

1) Start Word.

2) In a document, use the "Insert Picture" command to add the desired clip art to the document.

3) Click the clip art to select.

4) Right click and select "Copy".

5) Open Microsoft Paint (you can also do this in Photoshop, but everyone should have Paint).

6) Paste the clip art into Paint.

7) Click outside the clip art (but within the Paint document) to select the entire canvas.

8) Go to the lower right-hand corner and click and drag to reduce the canvas size to fit the clip art.

9) Go to File > Save As

10) Save as type GIF or JPEG. Don't forget to remember where you saved the file and its name--you'll need that information later on.

11) Return to your PBwiki

12) Click "Edit page". If you're not in point-and-click mode, click the "Point-and-Click Mode" link.

13) Go to where you want to insert the image and click to place the cursor there.

14) Click the "Insert Image" button.

15) Click the "Browse" button and make your way to the saved GIF or JPEG. Select it and click "Open"

16) Click the "Upload" button.

17) Click "OK"

The graphic should be on the page. Now you can click "Save", and you're done.

I access Word and select a clip art item and save it in Word as a .doc----also in ppt as a .gif
I open the wiki page, place the cursor where I want the clip art
I click on the insert image and get white space---nothing appears.

can you walk us through the steps you are taking and then maybe we can catch the problem. If that doesn't help I will write something up and post a link for you.

No. It is just a little sunburst with "New" written on it. I want to use clip art to bring attention to some information.

I don't really think this matters but is the .gif animated?

It doesn't see the graphic and adds it as a file. Can you step me through it? My file is a .gif

Web browsers generally require that files be of a certain format to be displayed. The most common formats are .gif and .jpg.

You should be able to convert just about any graphic into .gif or .jpg using image tools such as Adobe Photoshop or Microsoft Paint. Try using the "Save As" command.

I have tried this many times and it did not work. Does the file have to be a certain type of file (gif, bmp)?

You can insert any image you like by clicking the "Insert Image" button, and following directions to upload, and then insert the desired image.

Does this work for clip art too?
