Kevin, have you made all the required steps? We found out lately that we had an issue with our mail server, so maybe you didn't got your confirmation mail. Anyhow, don't worry about it. It's not required to have a 100% profile account in Popego.. as long as you created an Interest Profile that represents you, you will get great recommendations from Popego.

Santiago Siri replied on March 02, 2009 21:18 to the question "A bit confuzzled at how Popego works.." in Popego:
1) Here's an idea that I think you'll like:
When you click "once" on the "Like" button, it tells popego "I want more stuff like these" and the button changes its text to a "Fave it".. so if you click again, it will go to your favorites.. With 2 clicks, you fave anything.
We removed the "Fave" button to avoid confusion. Clicking the "Like" really improves user experience on Popego and we wanted to increase the use of that button. But yes, I have a huge lists of favorites myself (santi.popego.com).. the key would be to properly sort your favorites based on your Interest Match with them.
But I like the 2 clicks idea.. as a matter of fact, I'm making a mockup on that as I write this.. lets see what happens.
2) To make them hidden between sessions makes total sense to me. We could make it work that way. A full refresh from the browser will bring the items back, but as long as you browse through Popego's ajax interface, those items could be hidden all the time until your next login. We'll test this ideas.
Awesome feedback man. I will keep this post bookmarked to discuss it with the team here. Consider Popego 100% at your service! :)

Hi Rambo, thanks a lot for your comments and questions! It definitely helps us understand better how you want Popego to be.
1) Simply click on "Like" on those items that you like :) They will appear on your list of Favorites. For the moment being, the "X" simply dismiss that item until you reload the list. The "Hate" button might bury that item forever. Though we still have to find the proper usability for this buttons. We don't want that you accidentally click on the "X" and then you don't get to see that item again..... what do you think is the best approach for this?
2) There's a little bug now that not all items you "Like" appear on your "Favorites" as it should.. but that will get fixed this week. We are working on a feature that will let you add any page easily to Popego... and even much more! So stay tuned about that.
The whole purpose of Popego is to give you the stuff (news, blog posts, videos, anything online) that is relevant to your interests. You don't have to search for anything, nor read tons of status updates or RSS feeds... Popego does all the online filtering for you and aims to deliver the best links that suit *your* interests.
We'll be deploying some exciting features by the end of this week. Do let us know what you think about the app.. at the end of the day, we want you to be very happy using Popego :)

I use Facebook a lot too for pictures. But most users of FB want those pictures to be seen only by their friends... Anyhow, we still have pending to support FB on Popego.
To give a quick update: we are currently focusing very hard on the Artificial Intelligence, to improve our recommendations. Eventually we'll expand our support to other services. Thanks for the suggestion!
