I understand how to make twilio interface with an answering machine/voicemail (Twilio will wait for the "beep" before proceeding).

However, does twilio know when a voicemail hangs up or when the automated attendant comes back on to say that the message length has been exceeded. For example, if I have a 1 minute message playing into a voicemail that only permits 30 second messages, does twilio know what to do here, or give me as the developer any control over what happens?

Some possible options would be:

1.) Simple Automated attendant detection (detect the automated attendant's audio -- nothing intelligent, just that the attendant is making noise-- and allow the programmer to either terminate the call, or press more buttons, etc).

2.) An indicator in the API that says only a portion of the message was actually played (with the number of seconds played) so that twilio could call back and leave the 2nd portion of the message.

I tried to register (both with my openid and normally) using a gmail email address, and Agree2 said my primary email address was invalid. I used a different email address (non-gmail) instead, and was able to register. Just thought you should know.
