Sarthak Singhal replied on September 29, 2009 09:59 to the question "Fireworks CS4 won't launch after installing Snow Leopard" in Adobe:
Couple of thing to try out.
1. Install the latest updates. I see some people reporting the issue on a fresh install. The patch release might fix that issue.
2. In case the patch does not do the job, go to User->Library->Application Settings->Preferences->Fireworks CS4
AND
User->Library->Application Settings->Adobe->Fireworks CS4
and rename the Fireworks CS4 folder. Launch Fireworks afresh. Hopefully it should now launch.
Question: Do you have enough privileges with the user account to run Fireworks?

Hi Josh,
We are seeing the crash on exit for Fw CS4 as reported by you. Can you send us a screen shot of your workspace in Fireworks? A screen shot of Activity Monitor with Fireworks resource consumption will help us to investigate further.
What other applications are running along with Fireworks on the system?

@magnus
I am assuming that you have updated Fireworks CS4 with the patch that was released some time back.
If the issue is seen after the patch install, can you attach the crash log here or you can post a comment at my blog on http://blogs.adobe.com/sarthak and then we can work closer to resolve this issue.
Sarthak Singhal replied on July 08, 2009 11:32 to the question "fireworks CS4 auto shape properties curved corner tab bug on mac" in Adobe:
@Danger Mcjane
Is the issue seen while an autoshape is selected and the properties are beinge edited? Or it is while creating an autoshape? Does a relaunch of Fireworks help?
Download the auto shape properties panel from the link below:
http://sarthak.adobe.com/files/Auto Shape Properties.swf
Replace this with the existing one in the installed location.

@ hardhat
The text jumping which you are mentioning is when you are editing a file which was created prior to the CS4 updater or it is created in CS3.
When a pre- CS4 update file with jumped text is edited, the bounding box will jump to the original location and then any future edits should not give you any problems.
Moving a CS3 file to CS4 will cause a slight shift in the co-ordinates and this should also be just one time effort when porting the needed file from CS3 to CS4 version.
Is the base line shift all the time? coz this seems to some bug which we are not aware and will appreciate if we can have some more insight into it.
For all the crashes you are getting, I am assuming that you are sending them to Adobe when the dialog pops up. It will help even more if you can mark it with some unique text so that we can retrieve them quicker.

@hardhat, Tim, josh, jeff. n all,
As Clifton mentioned above, I am one of the engineering member on Adobe Fireworks team.
The updater tried to address some stability issues apart from the bigger text jumping issues.
I am ears for all the stability related issues you want to highlight and make us aware to be worked upon. I will need to work closer with you guys so that I can work on a case by case basis and solve them all finally.
You can leave a comment at any of the posts on my blog at http://blog.adobe.com/sarthak so that I can get your mail IDs and then we can proceed forward.
