Glad you love the app despite your troubles! We are aware of some crash scenarios just like the one you are highlighting. The cause is usually some non-standard data coming back in the search results from Craigslist (characters with accent marks for example).

I suspect that if you change the city or subcategory for one of the searches that it would work fine. Additionally I also suspect that after a little bit of time once the offending Craigslist entry is no longer in the top 100 results, these searches would start working again.

I do not have an ETA for a fix to this, but we're aware of it and improve this in every release. We will be pushing out another update in September.

The PRO version of Craigslist has several improvements in this handling, and may work for you but I can not be sure. If you post the City/category/subcategory you were using I can test a bit more on this end.

Additionally, even if I hand edit the resulting code to be "pheedyou_craigsearch" which seems to be the format, it still doesn't work. I either get topics from the entire Get Satisfaction site, or it just sticks to "Loading..." depending on the widget.

I am having this _exact_ same problem, on Mac OSX, oth Firefox 3.5 and Safari 4.

Company is "PheedYou", Product is "CraigSearch". None of the generated code works for me. However the Feedback widget integrated with no issue.

Unfortunately everyone on 3.0 has this issue right now. As soon as Apple approves our fix, this will go away. Any day now (with luck).

This feature has been added and is in Apple's hands for the Free version of CraigSearch. You will get 5 monthly email alerts for free, forever.

A new version of CraigSearch will be released in the next week or two that lets you buy blocks of alerts (50 for $.99 for example) and will email search alert matches, or deliver them in-app. This is an iPhone OS 3.0 only app.

CraigSearch will do exactly what you're looking for in short order!

An updated version is already in the hands of Apple that fixes this problem, as well as adding several new features (some free search alerts included).

We're frustrated too! We had tested the app with all the 3.0 beta candidates up until the release candidate of OS 3.0 Apple gave us last week. And there were no problems until last week. Unfortunately that's just the way it is. I can't hazard to guess how long it will take Apple to approve our update. Somewhere between 48 hours and 14 days seems to be the average right now. So hopefully next week.

I am sorry it is crashing in the interim, but the fix is on the way. We're also releasing a whole new version of CraigSearch sometime next week that adds a ton of search alert features.

Unfortunately Apple forced us to remove the "adult gigs" section from our application, as well as all of the Personals and the "erotic services" section.

We spent several months in a back-and-forth with Apple to try and get around this, but they told us simply "remove those sections or we'll pull your app". So we had little choice.

Hopefully if better parental controls are added to the iPhone platform in the future, we will be able to reintroduce these sections. But until then they will remain disabled.

We're as frustrated as anyone at this censorship. Thanks for posting, and thanks for trying CraigSearch!
