SBA replied on September 19, 2009 14:48 to the question "CommentLuv not working as expected" in JS-Kit:
Hope you had fun working 'off work' --- Thanks for looking into this and providing additional 'warnings'. I love commentluv when it's working (what else is new!). The key is to have a support system that does what you did to ease customer's pain as this marriage with Echo goes thru the rought spots. So don't throw out the baby with the bath water.

A comment on the question "CommentLuv not working as expected" in JS-Kit:
It seems you used a guest id and not a js-kit profile? So the test really does not simulate my problem. What profile did you use???
Is there a way I can re-define the profile if it's corrupted in some way?
I responded on the blog with another test of the situation:
"Did not work when I logged out of the guest profile and selected js-kit profile without refreshing the screen. Actually it hung and the submit button did not work... , so I copied this message and refreshed the page... pasted out of clipboard THEN it showed the commentluv url --- exactly as I subscribed the problem." – SBA, on September 18, 2009 23:29
SBA asked a question in JS-Kit on September 18, 2009 15:13:
CommentLuv not working as expectedhttp://bpwebnews.blogspot.com
Firefox Browser, third party cookies on (until expire)
First let me say that on prior problems when I mention 'commentluv' employees have said report it to CommentLuv [one even said what is that] and Commentluv shuttles me back to js-kit.. Most recently Commentluv support said "commentluv is a WP plugin clone that Blogspot folks begged for and software developer(s) never used js-kit! " Well, that makes me real comfortable now that I'm deep into CommentLuv + js-kit ----.. Okay so why don't I just remove it? Well who knows if the promise to 'restore your blogger comments' is going to hold up? I've seen problems where they did not because of a wrong option on the dashboard. This problem only started with the echo release, like so many of the 'lost comments' issues. I was oblivious and happy before then.
So my problem: I did my own 'testing' and found that the only way I can get my url ('commentluv') to show is if I'm already logged into js-kt BEFORE I even open the comment form. If I log in by selecting the js-kit profile, no commentluv. If I refresh the screen then retype my comment, luv appears out of the blue! I logged out, closed the window, reopened and no luv. The closed, logged onto js-kit dashboard and then went to comment on the blog --- luv returns.
Someone other than Microsoft or Firefox or Blogspot or ... needs to help since I did not choose js-kit [but do link commenting features] it came wih Blogger comment luv. And I did not beg of commentluv, just thought it was a legitimate gadget that would not make me regret sacrificing my comments and becoming embroiled in the echo complexities of leaving a comment. Even without commentluv, the system is not intuitive for most readers. Oh, I was also told 'maybe it doesn't work' because it's javascript on a free blogging platform so basically move to self-hosted! The nerve... why not remove the software as a legitimate blogger gadget?
I'd appreciate some help here, rather than having to go to forums and blog catalog discussions.
A comment on the problem "Comments Won't Post and others Disappearing" in JS-Kit:
Did you have JS-kit before Echo upgrade? You don't know when readers experience disappearing comments --- my first clue was when I got an email copy of a comment but it was not on the blog. I was told no way to tell how it was deleted most likely by the reader. Since then no such clues and not able to recover deleted comment... that's the power of 'disappearing'... – SBA, on September 17, 2009 23:47

I can't get my latest post to show when I key a reply comment. I tried what used to work --- unchecking and rechecking the commentluv button.
If I select 'my site' as my profile id, the submit button does not even work. Only when I check just the js-kit profile does the comment get sent. Here's the latest one:

I could not add my comment luv post url since js-kit would not take the submit button when I select 'my site' as the id instead of jskit profile. See reply above which has no comment luv. so i had to turn the js profile back on. and uncheck commentluv."

A comment on the problem "Comments Won't Post and others Disappearing" in JS-Kit:
I know I don't use IE8, but hopefully the 'issue' will alleviate some pain. Once you do implement, please let us know what aspects are corrected and please DO NOT close the problem as 'solved.' Could this be a Blogger and typepad issue since folks on WP who have a different plugin seem to be fine? There's also some server load issues. – SBA, on September 15, 2009 11:40
A comment on the problem "Comments Won't Post and others Disappearing" in JS-Kit:
This 'commenting' system is really a Get Satisfaction website --- is not the one we use on our blogs, so it works (differently). I've used it for MyBlogLog problems a long time ago. Notice you didn't have to select a js-kit profile or site. – SBA, on September 15, 2009 11:31
A comment on the problem "Comments Won't Post and others Disappearing" in JS-Kit:
Jason's statement of the problem is eloquent and there are LOTS of other frustrated customers.I have the same problems and readers also report it takes too much time to get js-kit to be ready to accept the comment --- the form is there but takes too long. There are so many intermittent problems it's unreasonable to ask us to record them. I've spent 5 minutes trying to add a reply comment on my blog and can imagine how reader feel. The problems are pervasive (perhaps more so on blogger) and you need to pull out some advanced debugging and simulation programs. I'm ready to ditch commentluv (which I do love!) – SBA, on September 14, 2009 22:38-

A comment on the question "Why did new comment not appear on my blog?" in JS-Kit:
Thanks for looking into this. I'd like to know who is the 'publisher' (is that me?) How can either one of us delete a comment after it's published? I don't see that feature. Do you mean it went to spam? Does the log have the text of the 'deleted' comment? How many were 'deleted'? – SBA, on August 25, 2009 20:07

When will someone look into this? It's very bad to lose a valid comment when comments come around so infrequently! Very bad... – SBA, on August 25, 2009 19:04
SBA replied on August 23, 2009 20:18 to the question "Why did new comment not appear on my blog?" in JS-Kit:
Yes I see your comment.
1. I doubt the other person deleted it. I've never seen a way to delete on blogger??
2. Can you contact him and ask him to resubmit? I don't have the email address.
3. I think it may be the max capacity issue, but the losses may not be few! I lost 2 I submitted on a blog a few days ago and others have similar complaints. One thought it may be a browser issue.
4. Its not slow loading, --- I've seen the zero comment count but the comments are not lost!
5. While I have you --- can they be lost to Askimet? Where do I set the parameters for Askimet or unblock readers???
SBA replied on August 23, 2009 19:54 to the question "Why did new comment not appear on my blog?" in JS-Kit:
The url is http://bpwebnews.blogspot.com and I've been using JS-kit for quite some time with comments appearing properly.
The lost one happened yesterday:
"Hesham has left a new comment on your post "Why CommentLuv may not be working for you""
