sblom replied on July 29, 2009 02:37 to the question "Is Vidoop gone out of business?" in Vidoop:
The blog is down, but we're still here. As I have repeatedly promised, you'll get 30 days notice if you need to worry about exporting your data. We're all (all 3 of us) frantically busy trying to keep the company in business, and so when we have IT problems, such as with the blog right now, they don't always get fixed right away. The blog problem is not a sign that myVidoop is failing--it is housed in a completely different data center.
We'll try to get the blog back up so folks don't get the wrong idea...

Vidoop isn't out of business just yet. While it is true that we ran out of money in May, there are still a small, dedicated core of employees working as voluteers to restructure and recapitalize the company. We expect to know much more about this by the end July. We'll keep everyone posted on the Vidoop blog (http://blog.vidoop.com).

Pop-up savvy bookmarkletYour bookmarklet should notice when my browser blocks your pop-up, and simply redirect the current window to your site with a return_url. I _believe_ that I saw the delicious bookmarklet do this today, which is what gave me the idea.

(OpenService Accelerator docs) (and just to head this off: no it's not just for IE.)
Scott Blomquist replied on February 09, 2009 03:47 to the question "Host proof hosting and myvidoop plugin" in Vidoop:
No. At present, we have designed instead for giving our customers the ability to reset a forgotten password without losing their stored information.
For now, if you're concerned about this, you could choose the option to store your passwords in a file on your computer instead of on our servers.
There is a possibility that we may someday add host-proof hosting as an option. Would you please tell us more about what options you're considering for host-proof password storage, and what trade-offs you are or aren't willing to make in order to get host-proof storage?
