Scott Hirsch replied on November 18, 2008 22:53 to the problem "Modifying tables is impossible in Docs" in Google:
Thanks for the prompt reply, Neil!
However, I'm still really confused. Are you saying that if i have a table with 7 columns and I want to change the width of each, then i have to manually change it in each of the seven columns? I think you should add a check box to the "change table" box that let's me resize all columns equally. I'm pretty sure that's what Word and Pages do.
I really really want to use docs exclusively (at least for internal document creation), but a few UE and functionality bugs make it really really hard. It's hard to rationalize spending 20 minutes formatting something as simple as a table.
Help!
Scott Hirsch reported a problem in Google on November 18, 2008 21:17:
Modifying tables is impossible in Docshow do you resize column widths?
if you add a column, it's impossible to get them all the right size again.
the modify entire table function doesn't include this as an option.
We're a google*apps shop here and yet this problem makes docs almost unusable.
Scott Hirsch replied on November 17, 2008 23:00 to the question "Looking to supplement GS with a Callcenter application." in Get Satisfaction:
Yes, we are currently working with a partner tackle this problem by training call center employees to monitor Get Satisfaction and answer/route customer concerns appropriately.
However, it seems you are suggesting a solution that has more to do with systems integration ... I'd love to chat with you more about different ways we could make that work.

Hi Kate!
Actually the bizdev contact is me: scotth@getsatisfaction.com. The person you're emailing is our lead engineer who doesn't sleep because he's so busy coding. I'm emailing you directly now.

The single best way to ensure that Get Satisfaction helps your customer is to make sure that they know the community is here. Use one of our widgets on your FAQ or help pages to surface the information from the GS community.
They'll be happy and you'll find that your volume of support email goes down, too.
p.s. I wish I was in the UK ... your food looks delicious.

How do I use GetSatisfaction to help my customersJust entering some FAQ entries into the Wiltshire Farm Foods GetSatisfaction site. I do hope they help people
Scott Hirsch replied on November 03, 2008 23:05 to the question "What happened to my review?" in XOXCO:
yeah, I clicked on feedback after i had migrated away from the page where I entered my review ... sorry about that. But I'm glad to see the feedback widget is working ;)
I'm sure my reviews exist (i wrote one for the duchess and a longer one for W) ... however, when i clicked "submit," i was just given some rather confusing messages about RSS. I would rather have been taken to a page that showed my reviews.
I really like the idea of the site, though. Let me know if I can help you figure some of this interaction stuff out.
Scott Hirsch asked a question in XOXCO on November 03, 2008 22:44:
What happened to my review?and why is the box so small? If I go to the trouble to write something, I want to see it after I post, just so I can feel like it was worth the effort.

When this happened to me on my PowerBook G4, I had to update the "power manager" which involved downloading new firmware. Do a google search on "updating power manager + your computer model" and see if you don't find a simple set of instructions.
Don't bother searching the apple support forums ... ugh!-

Scott Hirsch replied on October 22, 2008 17:50 to the idea "Feedback widget: make the "Post it privately"-link a button" in Get Satisfaction:
Great idea and something we've been talking about ... we'll post more about this idea as we get more feedback on the feedback widget.
.
Just so you know, the rationale behind de-emphasizing "private" is that our value proposition is focused on getting customer communication *out* of your email queue ... we want people to default to posting publicly.
However, you've raised an interesting case that we can probably account for in our next update to the widget. Thanks for the feedback!-

Scott Hirsch replied on October 17, 2008 20:10 to the discussion "What are some simple improvements to lists that you would like to see?" in diddit:
when i add an item to a list, it's not clear to me where the site is searching ... what database? so for example, if i want to add a cafe i like how the site searches and finds the relevant cafe. however, if the cafe is not in your database, it doesn't give me the opportunity to add the necessary metadata to accurately describe the cafe (e.g. city or zip).
the location example is the one that immediately comes to mind but it has happened with other types of items, too. Not sure what the solution is ... i know you guys don't want to make it difficult to add items to a list, but I get a little frustrated when i can't adequately describe my item.
hope this helps.

Make a feedback widget that lives on every page of a company's website.i think we need a feedback widget that can live on every page of a company's site ... and that lets users enter an idea and vote for ideas entered by other users
