Hi jcanto11,
We have yet to hit that barrier. In other words, we've been continuously expanding our server capacity to stay ahead of the user demand, which we monitor every day. So, no, not yet a problem. We do welcome the challenge, if you build that high-quality a website, which becomes popular with a host of real, interested users, we'll work to try to make sure your site stays up.
What kind of site did you have in mind?

gamedemon replied on September 04, 2008 01:36 to the question "Getting traffic from traffic exchanges?" in SynthaSite:
traffic exchanges can bring you a lot of visitors (for a short period of time), but they are horrible at giving you quality visitors who are going to bookmark your site and actually use it.
also keep in mind that the majority of people who use traffic exchanges are mlm and affiliate advertisers. and probably have no interest in the sites they see in the exchanges, they are just doing it to recruit others to their program.
so in all, traffic exchanges are probably not the best way to get visitors to your site.
however they can help. they are a great way to increase your banner impressions if you run any banner exchanges on your site.
banner exchanges (self explanatory) are a lot better than traffic exchanges because the viewer actually wants to view your site instead of just because it will boost their own sales. and they also increase page ranking by placing your links on a bunch of other sites. (and most exchanges don't allow adult or hate sites, so you don't really have to worry about the content.)
but if you ask me what is the best program to gain visitors to your site, i would have to say http://www.linkreferral.com which i have mentioned in other threads.
link referral isn't a banner or traffic exchange by the way. its kind of like a search engine were you have to surf a couple of sites from the listing every now and then to keep your site in the first couple of pages. i prefer this because people can actually review your site and make you their contact. and they have a forum for community support and chat
Sean Crotty at SynthaSite replied on September 03, 2008 21:08 to the question "Getting traffic from traffic exchanges?" in SynthaSite:
It is best to be cautious about traffic exchanges. You should carefully examine how they generate traffic and what types of sites will be shown.
It's very easy to annoy your own site visitors, and you can run afoul of Terms and Conditions from providers if the methods or content of the traffic exchange is in violation.
And search engines give much better ranking for traditional methods of generating traffic, such as direct links to content that a human has reviewed and deemed relevant.

Hi All,
We have considered that some people do not want the link in the footer, even though it is discreet.
We would like to keep SynthaSite absolutely free to all users, but may have to consider a paid version, if this is a big enough issue for many users.
Then, of course, the question of how much to charge, and how often comes up. And, the link is intended to help build a community of SynthaSite users.
We'd love to hear your suggestions.

Hi rosann,
Yes, you can do that.
After you've placed the image in one of the two columns, go to the sidebar on the right and choose the "Properties" tab at the top.
In the "Position" section of the sidebar, you'll see little icons for left-, center-, and right-justification. Click the one on the left to left-justify the image.

Hi Bengo,
I don't know much how search engine work but I think frequently update your site does somehow determine how often should a robot crawl your site. When I first published, the robot crawled my site every 2-3 weeks. Then when I started adding 1-3 recipes a week, on top of my weekly new article and ingredients, now the Google robot crawls my site once a week if not twice, according to webmaster tool report.
Best,
Niddy

Hey Bengo
The short answer is lots of new and fresh content on your site. More pages, more content and keep the old stuff. We're building out our blogging platform which will be available later this year, and that will allow you to constantly publish new content to your website. In the short term, keep adding content to your existing pages, and create more pages around the topic that your website is focused on. I hope this helps.

Sean Crotty at SynthaSite replied on August 15, 2008 21:55 to the question "Precise definition of an update" in SynthaSite:
Hi Bengo,
In this context, what search engines care about is that your website is not stale or static.
They see frequent addition of additional content as an indication of a up-to-date site. And they infer that these kinds of sites will be more interesting to users.
Additional content can be more text, more images, more videos, and / or more pages. Anything that adds potentially interesting new stuff that visitors will find relevant.
The more frequent the updates, the better in the eyes of the search engines. So daily updates are ideal. If a site is only updated once a month, then the search engines assume that it is a less useful site.
Effectively, an update is a revision (preferably an additional of a reasonable chunk of content) and a re-publish.

Sean Crotty at SynthaSite replied on August 11, 2008 19:32 to the question "where is the html widget?" in SynthaSite:
Hi mitc,
As you can see from Marije's nice big red arrow, the HTML widget is in the sidebar, under the "Content" tab.
If you're having trouble finding it, it may be because the the sidebar is showing Properties at the moment. As you can see in the picture from Marije, there is a "Content" tab and and a "Properties" tab at the top of the sidebar. If you can't see the HTML widget, try clicking on the word "Content" so the "Content" tab becomes visible.
Another reason you may not be able to see the HTML widget is because you are in one of the content folders, like "Photo Galleries" or "Video". When you're in one of those folders in the sidebar, you'll need to click the blue "Back" button in the sidebar (just below the word "Content") to bring you back to the view where you can see the HTML widget.
And, if you cannot see the sidebar, then it may be hidden. In that case, click the "Show Content Sidebar" in the top right corner to see the sidebar.
Hope that helps,
Sean

Hi ritzgirl - you can go back as often as you like and update your site as often as you as in the company answer above. Simply log into your account www.synthasite.com, open your site, edit it and then click the "update my site" button. – Monique, on August 10, 2008 21:12

Hi Monica - Thank you does nicely! When someone builds a site with us and gives back by participating in our community we are so happy we can barely contain ourselves! You are a shining example of this and we are privileged to have you on board! – Monique, on August 10, 2008 06:28
