Selected text region repetitionThis is kind of weird. Selected regions of text cause the same area to be selected in later tweets. To repro:
Select some text in a tweet.
Scroll up in the timeline a screen or two.
See that a similar amount of text is selected in another tweet, usually at about the same part of the tweet.
It's not 100% reproducable, and it seems like it might be related to the size of the Tweetie window, but I'm not totally sure. It has happened a bunch of times, though -- it's not a one time error.-

Rate limit exceeded when I don't see how it could possibly beTweetie just told me "rate limit exceeded" when trying to load more tweets at the bottom of the timeline. Tweetie has been running for about five minutes today, I have no other twitter clients running anywhere and I haven't done anything in Tweetie besides scrolling down in the timeline. If that truly caused 100+ api requests to happen, something is very wrong. I suspect that Tweetie might be misinterpreting some other error. I did notice that it too a long time before the error was shown (I was expecting a timeout).
A comment on the idea "Adding Groups or Stacks to Tweetie for Mac" in atebits:
To me, it seems analogous to client-side mail filtering, which has of course been widely available for many years. In both cases, server-side filtering is much nicer, but client side filtering works adequately and is very helpful when doing on the server isn't possible. – Sean Harding, on May 30, 2009 18:18-

Design an open photo sharing protocol and add it to TweetiePeople keep asking for more photo sharing services to be added to Tweetie. I'm sure the developers of every other Twitter client get similar requests. What if there were a simple, open and standard protocol for uploading an image and getting back a short URL for it? Photo sharing sites could implement the receiving side, and Twitter clients could implement the sending side, and users could post their photos using any service they want without the client developer having to explicitly add support.
A similar thing could be done with URL shortening, of course.

Load more past tweetsIt would be really nice if Tweetie could optionally load more (way more) Tweets when starting up (or regaining network connectivity, as when the machine wakes from sleep). It usually only goes back an hour or two for me, leaving huge gaps.
Usually I end up going to the website (or use Tweetie on my iPhone, which makes it easy to load more) to see what I missed.
This problem is exacerbated by the recent changes to the Twitter website which puts the "more" button at the bottom of the page and just loads all of the tweets on one page. They limit how far you can go back, so if you are away for too long, it's impossible to catch up (the website won't let you go back any further, and Tweetie won't load those messages).
I realize that it would require a large number of API calls (and some memory) to load all of those tweets, but I'd be willing to take the hit in order to have a complete list (well, minus the people whose tweets just never show up via the api).-

Growl notification notifies of old tweets at startupPretty minor issue. When Tweetie starts up (or when Growl notification is first enabled), it sends Growl notifications for a bunch of past mentions and DMs, even though they were read long ago. Tweetie obviously keeps track of the "read" status of those tweets, since it shows the blue dot next to the tab when there are unread mentions/DMs. The Growl notification feature should use the same data to decide whether or not a notification needs to be sent.
A comment on the idea "Clicking a picture should take me to the image service for aditional details." in atebits:
If this were implemented and you didn't want to use it, just don't click on the pic. Clicking the pic doesn't do anything now, so it's not as if you'd be losing some other functionality you currently have... – Sean Harding, on April 26, 2009 17:49

Picture window position should be rememberedThe window that pictures (e.g. from twitpic) opens in should remember its position. If I move it, the next picture should open in the same position on the screen. On a 30" screen, it's annoying to have them keep popping up top center, when I want them down lower.

Right-click on a link should allow copying itThe context menu shown when right-clicking on a link should give the option to just copy the link to the clipboard. Currently, the only "copy" option is to copy it into a new tweet. Sometimes if I want to open the URL in something other than the default browser (or IM it to someone), I want to copy it out of Tweetie. Possible now, but not as easy as it should be.-
