Seanmac replied on April 08, 2009 14:56 to the problem "Issues with table alignment and right click menus" in PBwiki:
Hi Rachel,
I have fixed it. As you can see in the above screenshots, there are pictures of the UK and Spanish and these are located in a table which is set to be centrally aligned. IE renders it fine but FF aligns it to the left despite the setting. The reason it seems is that Firefoxs rendering of picture alignment supercedes that of tables. It never occured to me before but the I had not set the alignment properties of the pictures. When I set the alignment of the pictures to center, the problem is solved. Yipee. Might be worth documenting this for your users.

Clif,
I'm not using a beta browser - its FF 3.0.8 - and this has been a issue for a long long time. Here is the screenshot.
Clif, I have been posting on forums (including this and the previous forum) for years and I have never received a warning about my language. I really do take exception to the fact that I have been warned given using language you will hear everyday watching TV before and after the watershed. Interpretation is everything and if you feel that you need to apply these Draconian restrictions then I suppose its Pbwiki's perogative but it leaves a nasty taste in my mouth. Would it have been more appropriate to say God rain fury on this everlasting Bug to demonstrate my frustration or would that
be insulting to Atheists.

Clif,
Are we any closer to having this alignment problem fixed. I Have a table on the front page of one of my wikis which is aligned centrally in IE 7(as it is supposed to be) and aligns left in FF 3.5. Its god damn awful and it really makes the front page look unprofessional. A fix is needed ASAP or if anyone has a workaround I'm all ears.

Google Translate not working for Web publish moduleHi,
I'm trying to add a google translate widget to my web pages. The widget adds fine but it seems that google cannot translate the pages. I just get a blank page when I enter in the page link into Google translate. Is this a bug or is airsets designed like this.
Thanks in advance,
Johnny

My connection speed is 2 mb shortly to be increased to 4mb (cable). I'm not sure if its the connection speed at my end because I did a speednet test while using openVPN while having this issue and the download speed was 0.5mb (from Witopia server) which no wonder affected the streaming. I'm in the UK and usually tunnelled/routed via a US server. It doesn't happen alwways but I do wonder if it co-incides with a time where there is increased traffic from the US side?? I use HD streaming from Hulu normally but even switching back to normal streaming does fix it but only sometimes.

Connection Performance Problems while viewing TV thru HuluHi,
I have been using personal VPN for a few weeks now and by and large I love it. However recently i have been experiencing performance issues when watching TV online (via Hulu). Streaming can be interrupted due to poor connection and it can be frustrating. Am I alone here? Will the recent upgrades improve performance? Look forward to hearing from you.

Like Hooft above I would suggest a possible partnership with DropBox or Syncplicity. They seem to have file syncing down to a T although their business models and yours may be at odds?? If this is a no-goer then a roll-your-own file syncer with similar functionality would be very welcome. I won't comment on the tech requirment because I'm not qualified. However, delta syncing and a good conflict resolution system would advantageous and essential respectively. Not sure what Hooft is on about with a multi-file uploader as this is in place already.

I've neen asking for a desktop syncing tool for years (seriously). I think it would be an awesome addition to the service. However, the powers that be in pbwiki don't seem to agree with me. There have been some promising posts that they were looking into actively developing etc etc... but this was a long time ago. Its a shame really

Seanmac replied on October 27, 2008 12:54 to the problem "Documents over 1 mb not searched by NEW 'Search inside attachment' search engine" in PBwiki:
Hi Adam,
Firstly, if I thought it was still in Alpha testing I would not have posted here. I thought it was a full feature release for general consumption as it is posted on the pbwiki website. Can you confirm which stage are we at in implementation please cause I'm confused now! I have fed my comments back to the alpha team previously as well and I did tell them that I was going to publicise the restrictions here.

Documents over 1 mb not searched by NEW 'Search inside attachment' search engineI was delighted when I saw this feature added because I have been harping on about it for ages. There is a big catch, however, which Pbwiki haven't told you about. It will not search documents over 1 mb. That is the limit. Apparently it will search the first mb of text of larger files but this is currently broken and it is being looked at by the engineers. But what is the point of a search engine searching the first mb when the word you are looking for is in the second mb?? Some search engine! I have all the extra space to load up larger files but will not be able to find anything in them. A great idea poorly implemented unfortunately
