The order is determined by a number of factors. Every major search engine uses a combination of algorithmic and editorial features to rank results by relevance. We do the same, but we also categorize the results to make it easier to find what you’re looking for.

Hi, folks. Just like any search engine, some adult content always sneaks through. We're working on improving that.

Rather than posting specific queries here (that minors can find), please take advantage of our flagging feature, and submit these discoveries privately. Posting specific queries here just defeats the purpose.

To flag inappropriate content, click the link at the bottom of each page that says "flag as inappropriate."

Again, please don't post specific queries here that yield adult material. If you are trying to find adult material, you may disable "Safe Search" in the settings.

We're pretty focused on the desktop right now. We haven't announced any plans for PDAs, but we have big dreams, so who knows?

Thanks for your feedback on opening tabs in a new window. We are aware of this issue, and are working to add this functionality shortly! This has been our most requested feature so far!

Thanks for the kind words, John. I actually love Google. (I even have a Google keychain.) But I think there's definitely room for different ways to search the web, and building everything from scratch was the only way we could realize our vision for Searchme.
