Hi Jenny
The first thing to check is whether you were still logged in when you googled yourself.
Go to http://schoolofeverything, and if you can see a link in the top right hand corner that says 'Logout' then click on this. Then google your name again - the result that appears will be what anyone other than you sees when they click on your profile.
If you're still seeing the orange boxes let me know!
Best

OK, so just to be clear: did the autocomplete do this a) when you first created your teaching profile and filled in the keywords, or b) when you went to add subsequent keywords using the field on the published teaching profile?
In my response above I was referring to b) - but if you're referring to a) please let me know.

Thanks for the comment!
There are always tough choices to make in how you want to balance top-down taxonomy with folksonomy - restrict how people self-define, or risk creating duplicate tags?
As School of Everything grows, we're looking at ways of refining our current system so that it's easy to find everyone in your chosen subject while keeping self-tagging as free as possible - watch this space for updates.
Mary Harrington replied on September 04, 2008 09:28 to the problem "Autocomplete sticks on "GNU/Linux"" in School of Everything:
The field doesn't autocomplete for every item in a comma-separated list - it only recognises the first one.
To add more subject keywords, input one keyword or phrase and then click 'Submit', then repeat for further keywords.
So for example, you would input 'GNU/Linux', and click Submit; then 'Programming' and click Submit; and then any other subject keywords following the same process.

Hi Gorgeoux
This feature will be implemented soon - we've just got a bit more work to do to make sure we get all the details right.
In the meantime, if you wish to delete your account please contact a School of Everything admin (feedback @ schoolofeverything.com) and we'll take care of it for you right away.

Hi all
There have been a number of complaints from SOE members about 'Dammy Bruce', including one who recognised the phrasing from a money laundering scam elsewhere.
Scammers and spammers will not be tolerated on School of Everything - we are investigating and will report this to the police if necessary.

Many websites work best when there are lots of users - like MySpace or Facebook. We're like that too. So because we want lots of people signing up, we don't charge you to do so.
(We won't sell your user data or give anyone else your email address either, in case you were wondering).
If you have any other questions, or want to talk to a real person, give us a call on 020 8980 8435.

What's the catch? You're offering me free advertising for my teaching. Sounds great - but there's got to be a catch somewhere? A hidden cost or something?
