    Scheduled bandwidth management
It's great to be able to throttle the bandwidth that CrashPlan uses depending on whether your at your computer or not. Can I submit a feature request to manage the bandwidth based on a schedule?

What I'd like to be able do is throttle the bandwidth during the weekday, then give CrashPlan full-reign overnight and at weekends. Thanks!

    CrashPlan NAS client
I'm sure this will be filled under "limited appeal" but I hope you consider it.

I my view the one of the few things missing from CrashPlan is the ability to backup a NAS without a computer running the CrashPlan client. Wouldn't it be great if a NAS could back itself up to CrashPlan? I think so.

NAS devices are becoming more sophisticated and vendors allow developers to create apps on the NAS as a platform. My favourite is the Netgear ReadyNAS line, which has quite a community of third-party add-ons:

I'm not a delevoper, but I believe it's a Linux environment. Perhaps that'll make it an easy port? Then I'll have the perfect small business server!

A comment on the problem "Authority server down?" in CrashPlan:

    Sebastian Nash
Thanks for your reply. I managed to set up the account a few days later.

I understand occasional downtime, I'm "in IT", and it was only a small inconvenience. It was a poor first impression from the point of view of my client however!

As such, I think the server status page (coming soon) is an excellent idea. If I could also suggest details of upcoming maintenance but placed on that page too (if it effects service), so we can make plans around it?

This is the first time I've had an issue with CrashPlan in a year of use, on many sites. I'm still a happy customer. – Sebastian Nash, on December 09, 2008 14:00

    Authority server down?
Trying to setup CrashPlan on a new machine (new account). Looks like the CrashPlan authority server is down?

Been trying for nearly 3 hours now...
