A comment on the question "Administrator rights required for install" in Songbird:

I'm running XP with SP3. When I run the installer for version 1.0.0.0 (for comparison) I'm first asked by Windows "Do you want to run this file" as a security warning, but once I click "Run", the install process continues unabated. When trying to install 1.1.1.0, I get the same security warning, but when I click "Run", the next window is a "Run As" window that asks me "What user account do you want to use to run this program." If I select my current user account I get the error message window titled "Songbird Setup" that says "The installer requires admin access, try again."

It may very well be something in my OS settings, but these same settings allow 1.0.0.0 to install with no problems. – seether295, on March 12, 2009 12:10

    Administrator rights required for install
Why does Songbird 1.1 require Administrator rights to install on Windows? Your previous releases did not have this limitation.

Administrator rights needed for nightly build
Why does your Nightly build require Administrator rights to install on Windows, but your 1.0.0 release does not?
