Thank you frenchtwist. Srsly... thanks for taking the time to say that. I like how you said "I Don't Like the New Interface - Me too's = 940" I hadn't even thought about it that way... there is a pretty good point there. So if approx 1/6 of the ppl that have joined GS "don't like the new interface" kinda makes you wonder how many of that 8million..... If I am super honest then I have to say I actually *did* like the new interface, I like lots of things about it but the more I have been using it the more I miss the things that have been taken away and the less I like it.
If I had my tag cloud and a couple other minor tweaks I would stfu. – Serinadruid, on November 30, 2009 03:44

I duno.. they swear the reason they do it it "most users don't write reviews"... at least thats what I was told but dude who knows. – Serinadruid, on November 30, 2009 00:15

Nah its a question "Is this feature or something like it a possibility?" but yea I guess it *could* be a feature request if I thought that would get it anywhere lol
I'd really just like to know if they have any plans for any sort of solution to this problem at all, if not my idea, then what? Thats why its a question, I'm super curious :)
It doesn't matter anyway, apparently unless 900+ more ppl click "I have this question too" the staff aren't even going to consider it. :P
P.S. If staff wants to change this to an "idea" I am fine with that :) – Serinadruid, on November 29, 2009 23:05

Yea... I hear ya there.. I don't think they do either but the problem is the reason CH and Monica are the ones tasked with reporting back is simple. The devs and engineers just plain can't. They are srsly swamped with fixing v4 to make it function on basic levels and implement their changes... the D day for v3 is approaching fast and they have stuff that really needs doing before then so I can understand that, srsly I can but I REALLY wish they had a little more time to consider some of the changes that have been made for the worse. It isn't fair to those of us that are trying to help and those of us that REALLY care what happens here.
Maybe after the final switch over, say by mid January? They will be able to come help us tweak the stuff we want fixed? I duno, I'm just being overly optimistic again probably. – Serinadruid, on November 29, 2009 17:54

Yea... I'd still like to see a couple of good features come back though... The stumble button is the real reason I am here for sure, but it linked so well with so many other things.. I mean SU was for bookmarking... Some of you know I have an illness "bookmarkitis" I have 4 browsers full of bookmarks (by full I mean MAXED OUT) and I used SU for the rest of them.... Now I can't search my bookmarks on SU cuz I don't have a flipping tag cloud.... but hey thats not what this thread is about, this thread is about a much simpler change...
I propose that if you delete a review from your review page, it ONLY deletes the REVIEW. That wouldn't be to hard to fix would it? I'd really appreciate it.

No CH, I realize it took a million ppl clicking "me too" to get the meter back, I don't fault SU for that, I just feel surrounded by idiots lol (No offense anyone who likes the meter but I think it is about .01% as useful as a tag cloud, clearly that wasn't the popular opinion, I realize that).
I don't think coffee is going to help, I'm so irritated by all this mess, srsly you guys don't realize how ticked off people are, devout people like me who LOVE SU, yea I still LOVE SU but its getting really annoying having to fight for features like this. I know a hell of a lot of people that have given up already. I'm sure you guys have seen the influx of images hosted on tumblr urls (thats what actually made me cave and join, not just every one of my friends had but that the stumble button was spitting out the tumblr urls like a mofo).
What REALLY sucks, is it is now going to take me a minimum of 3 other sites to replace what SU *used* to do for me all by itself. I'll never leave SU, ya'll have to kick me out to get me to leave but damnit if this isn't frustrating.
Btw, if anybody cares, I think tumblr sucks pretty hard lol

They are trying to make SU simpler and thats great and everything but I don't think all these features needed to be removed to do it. I'm ticked that the dumb similarity meter got voted back instead of something that was REALLY useful (like the tag cloud), imo. – Serinadruid, on November 29, 2009 16:53

Thanks CH.
@Johnny, oh I assure you, they are reading stuff, I wanted to get a comment though... something along the lines of "we will pass this on" or whatever but clearly it doesn't have enough support to be at that stage which means every little tiny thing we want back they are going to make us beg for, I for one give the eff up.
I don't get why this feature was removed so now if I review something and then change my mind I can't delete it because if I do then I have to delete my rating (thumb) as well, what if I discovered it? Oh well then I am screwed. *sigh* this was such a cool feature... I wish they weren't taking *all* the cool shit away.
---
EDIT: Okay that was really cranky... I had a cup of coffee and came up with a productive suggestion. How about (if we can't have the feature back) they just make it so when you delete it from your review page it ONLY deletes the review, that way if you want to delete your rating you can just go to the page and unthumb it same as you would if you hadn't reviewed it in the first place? Thats a smaller tweak and serves my purpose. – Serinadruid, on November 29, 2009 16:35

Serinadruid asked a question in StumbleUpon on November 28, 2009 19:48:
On Page Text: To Tell me Somone Wants to Receive sharesThis would be a very easy feature to implement and I think many would find it extremely useful.
I would love it if when I visit someone it said something like "this person welcomes shares from you" under the subscribe button. That way I would know 2 things. I would know:
1. They have subscribed to me.
2. They ticked the accept shares box
Why would I like it ON their page and no where else? Because before I can decide if I want to subscribe them or accept shares I need to look at their page anyway. Then once on their page I can add the fact that they are subscribed and accepting of my shares to my decision making process.
"Hey I really like their page, I will subscribe to them as well, hmm they want to receive shares from me, well sure since I REALLY like their page I wouldn't mind getting shares from them too! /tick box"
A notification PM sort of hounds you to go look and make those decisions, I would rather come about to that on my own, if there was a note on their page telling me what they had done then I would surely see it when I got around to visiting them. I won't "miss them and miss out" because if they truly have subscribed me because they like my content they will be visiting from time to time to see what I have posted and sooner or later I will notice them and visit back = Bam all the info I need is on their page.
Is this feature or something like it a possibility?

I bet they are waiting to see *just* how many people want this back... if you want my opinion we need to add to the numbers, tell your friends to come put their vote in by clicking "I like this idea". – Serinadruid, on November 27, 2009 22:53-

A comment on the idea "Shares to be 'opt-out' on subscription not 'opt-in'" in StumbleUpon:
@Charles, No... I don't necessarily get the trickle down of content from everyone I sub...Sometimes over a month goes by where I don't hit the actual button because I have plenty of shares to keep me busy.
I'll give you an example, if I *had* to accept shares from everyone I was subscribed to in this very moment I would go unsubscribe at least 100 people, that is how strongly I feel about it. – Serinadruid, on November 27, 2009 05:19
A comment on the idea "Shares to be 'opt-out' on subscription not 'opt-in'" in StumbleUpon:
@Charles "They PM your inbox - Now you now have to deal with the hurt feelings, grudges and spend my time trying to explain why you have only subscribed and not ticked their box" I think that is WAY less likely to happen than when I go "un-tick" and then they are left thinking "omg whats wrong with me why don't they like me and so on" rather than not ticking in the first place and then they can think "hey I guess they haven't decided yet". – Serinadruid, on November 27, 2009 00:04

That is normal.. it happens every time we update a toolbar but if you hit the info button you will see your thumb-up/down is still there. – Serinadruid, on November 26, 2009 23:52
