Great topic for discussion, thnx.
I asked before taking on a question and was encouraged by the creator and others to make it happen.felt it was basic courtesy.
Imitation is a sincere form of flattery.
grand ideas above, Destry.
Would be nice to have a template for Earthquake type questions, so that a bunch could be created at once.

very nice resolve and discourse solution here.
mork, I truly hope you know I did not in any way think you were gaming the question with the starting odds.
If the question was going to settle by the incident in N.Y., that would make it unreasonable to have the odds set as such.
Relieved that it looks like all will workout, and hopefully will settle as "no".
thanks for posting on my shouts in hubdubland to draw my attention back to my comments posted on this fine market you created.

regarding meanderingsearcher's great "silly" post
-enough tea and crumpets as well!
hubdubland has got to do something solid regarding the lame game situation.
perhaps a streamlined version, multitude of disciplines, passions, and interests, with easily researched markets. clear concise verbage. There is a bunch of them available.
the american sports Q's can be set to the "legal" odds around town. there is no way to game those, really.
a respected user proposed that real well recently,
regrets I cannot credit them right now.
Q's in the political realm are all obvious.
weather and catyclismic events are intriging and "game proof"
entertainment/show biz Q's are well, entertaining.
business index and finacial markets are thrilling and so easily created with minimal reasearch so they cannot be cheated.
they can all be indexed and referenced for clarity and proof of odds from the beginning.
huh, funny how we call ourselves "users"
that explains alot to me!
Most important is the fun. the high and the fun of playing hd.
The comradery and cantankerous comments.
why someone would want to cheat and to what end is beyond me.
where is the gain in gaming?
anyone caught cheatin gets 30 lashes with a wet noodle.
I just want to see how well I can predict a plethora of events in which I have absolutely no control over.
being competitive and a gambler just adds to the challenge and excitement.
Let's all play square and civilized.
aye, but as Maynard G. Krebs might say,
(the G. stood for Walter)
don't be a square, be cool daddy-o'

Well that was an interesting read. Perplexed by the attitude
of some, enthralled by comments of others, enjoying the lite hearted humour in this, always a good balance.
Food & water for thought until I can formulate a decent opinion.
currently, I have been turned off of hd by the obvious gamed questions. Ya do not have to know how the sport is played or who is going to get pregnant to spot it.
next thing I know logging on today, there has been a srike and controversy!.
I need a shot of Dave Chappelle right now.-

pretty good tips here so far.
try and set a percent gain per day you want to make. let's say 10%. so on day two you're hoping to have turned your initial $1000 into $1100. remember this is the sum of your cash and the current value of your predictions. it doesn't seem much, but after a month, a daily growth of 10% means you'll have about $20,000, and after two months $400,000.
if you make a wager, and the market turns against you because of events that change the likelihood of your winning, just cash-in the wager as soon as possible. cashing-in a losing wager may feel like a loss, but it doesn't change your net worth. it does, however, prevent your net worth from dropping more.
don't worry if you make incorrect predictions. everyone does. the future is unknown, all you're trying to do is to be right a little more often than you're wrong

the gaming of HD is so beyond me why anyone would want to do that.it takes the sport right out of the game, then whats left?
I just like to see my predictive ability and learn about new and exciting things in this world. I discovered an eerie similarity with the "where will the dow close today" and "how many quakes this week"
counting the quakes and watching the market writher. has distinct parallels albeit different perception.
Great pointers posted here, btw.

When I came across this market in hubdub, it was clear TO ME that it was intended as when will he resign? there was no clarification or further information in settlement details that mentioned when will his resignation TAKE PLACE. Larry Craig has little to do with this discussion. Really. That poor ol' confused man is not the Gov. of New York.
