A comment on the idea "Specify that only a subset of images appear in the displayed synth" in Microsoft Live Labs:
Yes to the bucket idea. The creator owner has the control to say if the end user can see both buckets, or just the display view bucket. Of course some will have no idea which should be in which bucket... there could be a lot of messy synths... – Shane, on August 30, 2008 00:46

A comment on the discussion "What features should we add to Photosynth?" in Microsoft Live Labs:
Yes, I totally agree. Wish I knew how many were me, and how many are actually others. The way it is now could lead to people artificially increasing views. – Shane, on August 29, 2008 03:20
Shane replied on August 29, 2008 00:34 to the problem "Stuck at "experiencing a network problem"" in Microsoft Live Labs:
I've got this for the 1st time too, on Vista SP1 & IE7... from log...
08:23:22 VtApp: CollectionUploader: UploadFile:Write failed hr(0x80072EFF), retry 5
(and that was hours ago)
The first time I "uploaded" this synth (under a different name) it was stuck at the the famous "publishing" stage. So at least the upload was quicker.
A comment on the problem "Every time I start the installer, my pc freezes totally!" in Microsoft Live Labs:
Take a chill pill opus86. Every system's different, PhotoSynth installs and works on many many peoples varied systems... so yes... (as a MCP/MCSE) I'd be looking at your system too.
Try :- Using "Windows Installer CleanUp " to cleanup your install, then delete C:\Program Files\Photosynth. Download and install the required components manually (Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable, Windows Imaging Component), download and install latest DirectX (Aug 2008). Update video drivers to GeForce 175.19. Then re-install PhotoSynth again. If you've done all this already, don't shoot me please – Shane, on August 29, 2008 00:14

Um... think this should be in another topic... this is an "ideas" topic, not a "problems" topic. I'm following this and don't want to read un-related stuff... – Shane, on August 28, 2008 22:45-

Weaker will be fine for now. Some sort of privacy anyway. Then work on stronger. – Shane, on August 28, 2008 22:28

Still waiting... 14 hours since log says "VtApp: Collection completed (XX% synthy), but isn't avialable for viewing yet. " – Shane, on August 28, 2008 21:38

Same issue, how patient... it's been 14 hours now since "VtApp: Collection completed (X% synthy), but isn't avialable for viewing yet." appeared in the log. – Shane, on August 28, 2008 21:27
A comment on the problem "Photosynth stuck a "Publishing" phase." in Microsoft Live Labs:
Agree, I have the same issue, 2 synths, 1 appears on the site, 1 doesn't, both have the same in the log... "VtApp: Collection completed (X% synthy), but isn't avialable for viewing yet."
(p.s. did someone think to check the spelling of available!) – Shane, on August 28, 2008 21:25
